Devora Tumbang, Crown Princess of the Wanderlands, had questions. Standing at the edge of her orchard, she hoped the mare her aunt had left to fetch might just have them. Devi had particular talents that lent themselves to all things growing and gardening. She had fields and fields of tea plants, bushes bursting with the sweetest berries and hives that made the best honey known far and wide. As she gazed over the orchard, Devi heaved a sigh. She had all these delightful fruits, and by the Queen one could only make so many different types of jams, jellies and teas…

So when her aunt mentioned she knew a mare who could mull these fruits into meads and other beverages, Devi’s interest was peaked. She was thrilled to learn anything new with plants, and this mare held the potential to increase not only her knowledge, but add to their already robust products made within the herd. Digging her claws into the dirt, the mare weaved between the cherry trees, enjoying their aroma. She aunt Sana was a treat, a kind mare who loved her rose bushes and all her nieces and nephews. She spent more time alone, wandering her gardens and talking to the birds that lived there. She was known to be a bit of a loner by nature, quiet in ways her sisters often were not. That didn’t mean her aunt wasn’t part of the party, oh no. She was always there, happy to join and celebrate, but when it was done, she’d disappear to recharge.

Devi had no such issues. She’d be the center of the party for the rest of her days, happy to chat with anyone at any point in time. She and most of her siblings could be found at tea time, or harassing each other throughout the day at their various vocations. As she lapped the trees, Devi made her way to the entrance to the orchards, expecting her aunt and their new guest to be here very soon. She was the Princess, she had to make sure she was on time! One never, ever, wanted to be late for important dates..

Oksana, younger sister to the Queen of the Wanderlands, was excited. She stood at the edge of the herd lands, waiting for her friend to wander down the path and join the party. Sana met the mare, Sangria, at the market selling her delicious juices to the gathered masses. During her browsing, the two of them got to chatting, and Sana learned that the mare was having some issues sourcing her fruits. Her previous supplier had fallen through, and she was running out of supplies for all of her crafts, not just the juices. Sangria also made perfumes, and was dipping her toe into dyes and paint making as well. She was a talented mare, and Sana knew she'd be an asset to the herd with her skills. She also knew her niece Devi was quite prolific in her produce production, and the princess was running out of things to do with all she grew. So, it sounded to Sana that there was a mutually beneficial relationship to be built here, and she was more than happy to facilitate.

She also got the sense that Sangria needed a place to belong. She often saw the mare alone after market days, disappearing into the horizon. Sana was probably the most introverted of the sisters, and as such she spent a good amount of time just observing. She didn't want to assume the mare was lonely, but she seemed dulled when the market was ending. She packed up her wares slowly, stopping to chat with most of the other vendors before things wrapped up. The joy in her step seemed damped as she wandered off to her home, and Sana wondered if she could convince Sangria to come stay within the herd at least some of the time. The travel to the markets wasn't bad, and Wanderlands often held their own markets that she could join!

Settling into a seated position and wrapping her tail around her paws, the mare waited. Somewhere in the back of her mind she worried the mare wouldn't show up. She'd hyped all of this up to her niece, and it certainly wouldn't look good if Sangria never showed up. Devi was a good girl however, she'd never hold a grudge against her aunt if this fell through. If anything, it would probably give her inspiration to learn some of these skills herself, or talk one of her boys into it. The princess was stubborn as well, and she wouldn't give up on these ideas now that they were bouncing around in that beautiful head of hers.

A snapping branch started Sana out of her thoughts, and that trademark grin pulled across her face. Headed towards her was Sangria herself, bag strapped to her side. "Hi there friend! Welcome to the Wanderlands, would you like some tea?"
