Akira is out and about the night liking how the weather has finally given into the heat with the nights getting cooler. That is a great relief that is so welcomed. Looking up at the night sky as he gets a show like no other. The meter shower going on strong as he counts the shooting stars as they go by. He has heard of this event at this time of year but he was normally always sleeping at night. This is the first time this time of year that he is awake at this hour and he is grateful for it. How could he have been missing this all until now? A bit mad at himself but knowing that all that sleep was needed as he was growing up. Now he is going to try to always see this event. It is truly beautiful to watch. He is having a blast looking up and trying to count all of the stars he has spotted but he needs breaks from time to time as his neck starts to ache from bending in the angle it needs to in order for him to see the stars. His thoughts running wild in awe about the meter shower and how its beauty makes him feel at ease.

Being able to watch this is nice. From now on he is so going to try to catch it. Taking a break as he walks to a stream and takes a drink. He then lays down in an area that gives him the best view of the sky. Back to counting the stars as he softly hums to himself. So peaceful and relaxing. He never knew that the night sky put on such a show. He will have to drag his mate to watch it with him next time. That is something he makes a mental note of so that once he is back home and with her that he can show her this. No one should miss something like this. So pretty and so awe inspiring. A calming effect that rushes over one from the pure beauty of the dancing stars in the sky racing after each other. Covering the sky every few moments at sparkles of five to six at a time every few minutes. Wondering if this show will fade in time or keep going strong? To answer that he is just going to have to stay awake and watch. Still counting and humming softly as he watches the night sky.

Just what time did he start watching this event of stars racing across the night sky faster then thought. One can miss the whole show if they blink. He doesn't know when he started but the show has slowed a bit. Now it is sparkles of four racing stars every few moments. He keeps count and knows he is over the three digits in his counting. Never has he counted something this high. Wondering if he is going to get into the four digits soon or if they will end before he gets there. He knows that he has missed a few hundred with his yawning and blinking. As well as his need to drink, snack, and relieving himself. So he is hundred precent that he missed over hundred. It has been hours that he is only guess to how long he has been out here just counting the stars and trying not to miss any. But knowing that he has missed some isn't as disheartening seeing as he has seen so many just racing across the night sky in flashes so easy to miss.

After more time has gone by as he notices that the night sky is returning to a calm and still place now as the shooting stars are now only one to two racing stars every few longer moments. Meaning that the meter shower is fading and coming to an end as the night is losing its hold of the sky. In just a few more hours and the night will give away into day. One can tell that the night is getting lighter but still dark enough that it is still called the night. His counting didn't get to the four digits but close to six hundred but he could have fallen asleep a few times. He can't say that he was awake through all of it but he has seen most of it. Stopping his counting as he curls up and nuzzles into himself as he closes his eyes not able to stay awake anymore as he slowly drifts off into dreams staring the meter shower and all the wonder it gave him. He has made a good memory tonight. Something he will take with him for a long time coming and knowing that he will be able to show with his offspring in the future.

Something wakes him as he yawns and slowly cracks his eyes open as he looks at what ever it was that woke him. Hmm a bunny hopping about. He yawns again and slowly gets to her paws and then stretches out his stiff body as he works himself out and looks about then up at the sky. Well it is morning and the racing stars can't be seen with the sun out and bright lighting up the world. Akira can't wait to get back home and tell his mate about the night sky and the beautiful display it put on. Oh he should tell his siblings and mother as well. After all he can't in good faith keep this wonderous event to himself. It is something that must be shared and here is to wishing that this event shows up more than just one night and happens for a few nights at a time. Because if that is the case then on his way home he can share it with his mother and siblings. Not his mate as she is a few nights travel from him at this moment. Humming again to himself as he sets off of back home.

Akira stretches again on his trip home as he gets to where his mother and brother are. Then night falls again claiming the sky as darkness allows the stars to come out to play and then it happens again. The stars start to race again but not as fast and as many as the other night. He tells them about it as they watch the sky together talking about how beautiful it is and how they need to share it with all of those that they love. They get lost in watching the meter showers that are happening above them. Awe inspiring as flashing streaks of light race across the night sky. Akira falls into silence as he counts and can tell already that the event is slower this night. So even if this event happens a few nights in a row to get the best show then one would need to catch the peak night. Seeing what he is seeing now compared to last other means that maybe last night was the peak of it. But it is still pretty and still wonderful to watch. He hums again and then realizes his mother and brother said something to him. He then answers them that last night the stars were more in number and going faster. There were more racing in the sky ever few moments than tonight. He was happy to share this moment with his mother and brother.
