The Problem With Everburning
Chapter 3
The three of them quickly walked down the passage between the walls of smoke. There were times when Axel wandered off, trying to figure out how the 'corridor' could have a perfect ninety-degree angle; during those times Xigbar and Larxene would walk ahead of him faster, hopeing he'd be stupid enough to wander off the path at some point.
They were greatly dissapointed when they found he wasn't that dumb.
" Hey guys, wait up!"
" Then stop falling behind." Xigbar called back, not even slowing down a little bit.
" Aw, come on! You can't tell me you're not curious as to why the smokes acting all funny like it is now!"
" I'd rather not find out, thank you." Xigbar answered, annoyed a little. And not just because he was falling behind all the time, but also because he was starting to act like his old self again; before Larxene did whatever it was she did to him.
" Come on Xigby buddy!"
" AHHH!! Do you WANT to die? " Larxene roared at him furiously.
" Well, no. Not really-"
" Then SHUT UP!"
" Xigby! She's being mean!!"
" Shut up both of you!" He growled. Larxene then glared at him, to which he cringed and said, " Please."
He never found out if she'd forgive him or not, because at that time they had reached the end of the 'corridor' and found where it'd lead them.
" You gotta be kidding me." Xigbar said unhappiely.
" Hey, this place looks familar." Axel dared to note aloud when he finally caught up with them.
" Of course it's familiar you pinhead." Larxene snapped at him. " This was where you set the Library on fire!"
" Oh....That would explain why there's a burning doll house where Demyx's doll house used to be."
She screamed in frustration. " Does he even HAVE a brain?!!?!?"
" Calm down Larxene, no need to yell in my ear. " Xigbar winced. He thought about her question for a fleeting moment and thought perhaps she was right.
Larxene was right, the 'corridor' had lead them to Demyx's everburning doll house. And Demyx, was still lying helplessly by the house. He was in tears as he watched his beloved toy burn, slowly, ever so slowly.
" Demyx-" Xigbar tried.
" Woe is me..."
" Demyx-"
" What a woe of a world."
" Demyx-"
" Such a cold feeling, this-
" Woe! We get it!" Larxene yelled. " Geez, what are you? A broken record?"
Demyx didn't answer for a moment. Then when he did speak he said, " Woe..."
The other three looked at each other, now Axel wasn't the weird one.
" Hey Xigby? When'd Demyx become an emo?"
" Hey Axel? When did you become retarded?" Larxene snapped back at him.
All Xigbar could think of was that the burning house remotely reminded him of the Olympic Torch on a small world called Earth.
" Well, what now?" He asked after a moment of thought.
Axel shrugged and Larxene rolled her eyes, Demyx just lay on the floor in a puddle of his own tears. Perhaps he wished he was that puddle, a puddle that could dose the red tongue of fire that was his beautiful doll house. The scene, in Xigbar's eyes, was hopeless. Then Axel raised his hand, which was held there for a little while as he stared at Xigbar.
" Yes Axel?" He answered, realizing he was asking for permission to speak.
" May I go to the restroom?"
There was a pause.
Larxene turned to stare at him and gave him a disgusted look. Demyx stopped crying for a mere moment and looked at him funny. Xigbar himself, wanted to bash Axel's head on a book shelf at his stupidity.
" How will you find a bathroom?" He asked, sounding as reasonable as possible.
" I don't know, but I gotta pee."
" EW! TMI! " Larxene shouted. " We didn't need a news flash, thank you."
" But I raised my-"
" Go ahead and go to the bathroom Axel." Xigbar sighed, hopeing he'd get lost. " Just get there and back safely." He obviously wasn't going to say, ' don't get lost.' But he still had to say something so that Alex's stupidity didn't get the better of him.
He would soon regret those words.
