Hello...this is kinda like an interjection in my story. It's about Daniel before he turned dark. I hope you enjoy this excerpt!
We were sitting underneath a tree. I tried to cherish every moment with her before I left. I tried, but something had kept me from doing that very thing. In the warm sun, I shivered hopelessly as though I was put under a sheet of ice.
"Daniel, are you alright?" Jean asked. Her warm hand lifted to my forehead. "You're cold." She positioned herself in front of me and looked into my eyes. "I'm fine," I said, then closed my eyes, as though I was in pain. "No, you're not," she replied. "You're not telling me something. What is it?" I opened my mouth to tell her everything. About my family. About my leaving. But I couldn't, not now. "I can't," I said. I didn't know how. "I understand," she said, then put her back against mine. "I can carry you home if you want." I smiled.
