So with the release of the new cash shop item Hermes' Moon, Gaian's are going crazy. Most people are pissed off because it's 999GC, or about ten dollars. But there seem to be quite a few people defending Gaias right to make money. I suppose I'm in the middle because I can understand both sides of the argument. Gaia is allowed to have items in the cash shop so they can pay their expenses, but they're treading to close to this becoming a pay-for site. $10 for one item is ******** ridiculous because IT'S NOT REAL!!! There is no way to ever get the monetary value back, it can only be converted into fictional online value. It's against Gaia's TOS to sell any items or gold for real money anywhere else, unless of course they're doing it. Now I understand it's all perfectly legal, but it's not very ethical. The majority of users here on Gaia are in their teens, while I'm not, most are. They don't have money to be spending on Gaia, Hell I have a job and it's still too much expense. I don't care about all the sponsorship now on Gaia, that's to be expected on the internet, and having the cash shop is fine. But when Gaia announced it was going to have a cash shop they said the items would be about 50 cents to 1 dollar. That's reasonable for pixels, ten dollars isn't. Ehh.. That's enough rant for now.
