So yesterday my Dad and I headed off to Joann Fabric's and got all the fabric we needed for my outfit. We also did some errands like stopping at the library and at a shoe repair store and at the sewing machine store for a new zigzag foot for Kenny and etc. ((Kenny is my nickname for our "Kenmore " sewing machine. :] ))
So by the time we got home it was somewhere around 3-ish and my older sister came to visit. She ended up talking to my parents forEVER and when she left my Dad and I got to work on my hakama.
We used this great red color for the fabric and the pleats are awesome! whee
We stopped for dinner but pretty much worked on it from 4:30 to like 9 pm. After that we started on my kosode. ((It's like a kimono but only goes down to my knees.)) We laid it out and right away we saw something was wrong. The girl that had cut out the fabric gave us 2.5 yards instead of the 3.5 yards that we asked for. And of course they had closed a half-an hour before. :[
So we did a bit of it but couldn't go very far.
And today we didn't go to church because my Dad hurt his back and couldn't stand up. So we all stayed home today and served his every whim. :] Hehe, but he's doing a bit better now.
