Every once-in-a-while, June must go back to G-corp to receive a serum to stabilize her molecules.
When she had crossed the barrier between the dimensions, her molecular structure didn't reform properly.
(back story time!)
When Venahera died, the universe became out-balanced. unfortunately it was not her time to die then. in order to set the equilibrium straight, the universe allowed the rare passage between dimensions (normally people would die if they tried that). since June's magnetic signature, as well as her genetic make-up and such, were almost exact copies of Venahera's, she was the perfect choice.
That's when G-corp found her..
June landed on gaia. g-corp found this person, and assumed automatically that it was Venahera(of course they were wrong). bringing her back to the base unstable, they created a serum in which to stabilize her, so she could stay in that dimension.
But when they found out it wasn't Venahera, they kicked her out.
Finding out that she was unstable and weak, she knew that she would die. Although the universe only wanted her to live as long as Venahera would, she bypassed its decision. every one-in-a-while, june would go back to G-corp and steal enough serum to last a good while.
G-corp spies very soon found out that their serum was being stolen. Strengthening the protection over the serum made it harder for june to get to it. she resolved that she should try to stay stable enough to go less often. but with the recent events she had to go, which was a timespan of less than a month.
But G-corp wasn't oblivious. this whole time they had been spying on her and what she's been doing. seeing the relation between daraith and june, and the threat to daraith's immmortality, they planned to get rid of june.

if daraith wanted to become mortal because of june, then if there is no june, he would have no reason to become mortal. and if he comes after us for that, we have enough forces to stop him. twisted
So now june assumed they wouldnt expect her this early, and she ahd an easier shot at it. unfortunately she let herself become so unstable and weak, that she could barely pass the second guard. she was captured.
Brought to the lab, she was a prisoner. claiming it was the serum she was looking for, the scientists injected her with a powerfully lethal poison (she's screwed.). not long after the injection, she realized they were killing her. she panicked, but she was encouraged to.
"the more you panic, and let the blood flow faster through your body, the faster the poison will spread" the scientists said. she tried to calm down, and she was locked in a holding cell. the walls were 4 feet of metal, and there were guards surrounding it, sure that someone would try to save her.
Dying, she stayed as calm as possible in the cell, waiting to see if anyone would save her this time. she knew she had less than 36 hours to live(if she stayed calm).
daraith's words ran through her head:
"im not always going to be there to save you"
she concluded this must be the universe's punishment for her not dying when venahera should have.
