Chapter 5 Part 4 VI M
A few weeks have past since I met Alandra and I have now learned more magic then the basic I knew to begin with. During the first week, she had me concentrate my magic through a special dial thing that told what one’s magic type was. Magic was divided between two major categories, 4 sub-categories, and 8 combinations. The two major categories were Light and Dark magic. Light focused more on healing and helping while Dark was more offensive and power related. The four sub-categories were Wind, Water, Earth and Fire. They also fall into a light and dark category with Water and Wind in the first and Earth and Fire in the latter. Finally were the 8 combinations that don’t really follow the light and dark chart, but are combinations of the four sub-category magic. You are probably bored of this by now so here is a list: Fire + Earth = Magma Fire + Water = Steam Wind + Earth = Sand Wind + Water = Ice Fire + Water + Wind = Lightning Fire + Water + Earth = Metal Fire + Earth + Wind = Protect Earth + Water + Wind = Wood I don’t understand the protect thing either but hey if it works don’t question it. Alandra, herself, could do water and wind elements that also allowed her to use ice and light elements too. She told me that using one sub-element was common among people as well as two sub-elements, not many could use three but could train to learn a third and or a few could use all four. However everyone could use light and dark magic, but only few know how. Now enough of the explanation, let’s continue the story. I place my hands around the dial and let loose my magic. According to Alandra, it would stop on whatever elements fit me the most, but it just kept spinning I let go, but it just kept going and going. Alandra then poured her magic in and it pointed to Water and Wind. She looked at me in amazement. “Maybe, you are the only one who can do this.” She whispered to herself, but I heard it. “What happen?” I asked. “Your magic, it…it…it is…” She stuttered. “It is what?” “It is a rare ability to have at start, but you can use all the elements to their maximum potential.” “What?” And so my training in all elements began, but it was hard to do for I need to learn each one at a time at a beginner’s level. However, within the past 3 weeks I learned basic Fire magic. “How long is this going to take?” I asked. “Well one usually masters a element in a year.” “What, but I need to master all of them to be able to fight Lesth.” “Are you crazy? That will take a century at least.” She saw my jaw drop follow by a fall to the ground. “Look, you wanted to learn and now you know.” “But I don’t have that kind of time, I need to kill them all before the end of the year.” “Why?” I then explained Navimle’s plan to basically cause a nuclear holocaust to the entire world. She gasped, “W-W-WHATTT?” “Yes, so I need to hurry. Is there any other way to increase the process?” “Well magic was discovered about a century ago, but when magic was looked into more deeply we discovered multiple training grounds for the elements and they all traced it back to here.” She walked away to a dense part of the forest. I followed. After following her, we came to a temple/cave. She placed her hand on the temple and it glowed, she then began to read the text. “Ye, who enter this sacred place, must work to the dark surrounding to master thy elements. Only once you have set your resolution, only then will you see the light in the dark and learn all you need to know.” She stopped and it faded. “That’s what it says, but all who have enter became deranged in the dark and died shortly after exiting. You may die in there.” I walk to the entrance. I turned towards Alandra and looked her straight in the eyes and said, “There is no other choice…I’ll be back soon, Sensei.” I then ran straight into the darkness as it engulf me and slipped on my mask, only to here Alandra’s last words to me before losing the light. “Good luck, Nobody. You are my last hope.” *** In the darkness, it felt very sickening and I was just collapsing from the dark. I had some food, but after what seemed like a week, I was slowly running out and was feeling very alone. I began to lose hope wandering the dark. I felt like I was ready to collapse. Things began to go through my head. “Why am I here? Why did I come? Why am I doing this? Do I need to? Maybe I should give up.” I was losing conscience then I remember a word from the inscriptions on the temple/cave. “Light.” Then a figure appeared in front of me, one that look like Hikari. She reached down and patted my head then she whispered, “What about me?” I immediately woke up and shouted out to the dark, “I will protect everyone, I will save everyone. I will not let my Light die.” A light shine forth and I saw the entrance to a chamber. A scroll was waiting inside and I began to read it and began my training with my resolution in hand. *** 6 Months later Nervously outside the cave, Alandra waited for any sign of me after 6 months she was slowly losing her light again. She was about to leave back for the village when a gust of wind suddenly blew from the temple followed by what seemed to be a fire blast a silhouette towards her. Soon bursting out of the temple using both wind and fire to slowly descended and now with a longer hair and a small goatee came a smilling Nobody with his Sensei hugging him to welcome him back. Slowly as the sun began to set on this day in early fall and they returned to the village to prepare for the fight with Lesth that was soon to come.
