I woke up in a dungeon, but not just any dudgeon. It was a dungeon made of pure ice. The ice glistened a beautiful pure clear white. I shivered; this dudgeon was deeper than the cave I was in earlier. The surrounding walls were ice too, but the walls were bars like a jail. What really made it seem like a jail was the fact that there were iron chains around my ankles and wrists joining together and then connecting to the wall. Since I was out of the water, I felt stronger by the minute. I’m never going to get that crystal to help Maxx, let alone save Eylon like this. I thought.
“Well, well, well, if it isn’t Sora all lonely and helpless.” A voice said. I looked up from my sitting position. It was Zaku. He showed up at all the wrong times. His dark black eyes seemed to pierce the ice. He was with Jason. Jason was in human form, also. “Leave us, Jason. You’ve done your part.” Zaku commanded Jason. Jason smirked at me, and then took his leave. Zaku sat down about a foot away from me; the bars were the only thing between us. He had a sinister look in his eye, which scared me a little. I could do nothing; I was like a helpless mouse in a cage. He stared at me with those pools of darkness called eyes. “Tell me, Sora, are you lonely? Doesn’t it bother you that your little friends haven’t come to rescue you?” This struck me hard. It was true that I hadn’t seen my friends, but it was the fact that I hadn’t sensed their aura in the lake at all. “You know it’s true.” He teased. I didn’t hear him, though; I was in a trancelike stance thinking about my friends. They weren’t in the lake water. I closed my eyes, focused, and increased my range of aura sensing. They weren’t in the lake or in the woods surrounding it. When I opened my eyes, Zaku was smirking at me with a nasty smile. Not only that, but I was a little dizzy; I hadn’t eaten since breakfast. I fell onto the floor from my sitting position. Since the ice was freezing, I curled up on my side. I was blinking in and out. Zaku walked out of my sight. Then, I heard a door opening and closing. I looked up to see Zaku in my jail cell and strolling toward me until he was standing over me. If he weren’t so evil, I would’ve wanted him to be my friend, but that thought quickly left with a feeling of hatred. He sat behind me, slipped his arms under mine, and pulled me into a hug. A hug? What is going on? I thought with my mind racing.
“I have a direct order from Torraz. I’m going to have to kill you.” He pulled a knife from his pocket and grasped it in his hand. His voice seemed hurt and sad, “Good-bye, my princess.” And with that, he stabbed me in the chest.
