Letting Go
Watching you sit beside her,
Enjoying your time.
Looking at your smile,
I envy her.
You said to let go,
But I still hold on,
To my memories of our past,
And to my fantasises of our future;
Now shattered and gone.
Watching you hold her,
Like she’s the only for you.
I remember the times,
You held me like that too.
Watching this scene,
Remembering our times.
When people called us sweet,
Putting our names together; entwined.
You said to let go,
But I continue to hold on.
Shedding tears that are unknown,
To you or to anyone.
When I see you smile,
I smile back.
But the way you look at me;
I know your long gone,
You’ll never come back.
You said to let go,
But I continue to hold on.
Shedding tears that are unknown,
To you or to anyone.
When I see you smile,
I smile back.
But the way you look at me;
I know your long gone,
You’ll never come back.
Our times together;
Playful and sweet.
I wished it would never end,
Whenever we had to meet.
But it had to end soon,
Or at least sometime.
We we’re never the perfect couple.
We tried to live that lie.
You said to let go,
But I continue to hold on.
Shedding tears that are unknown,
To you or to anyone.
When I see you smile,
I smile back.
But the way you look at me;
I know your long gone,
You’ll never come back.
Letting you be,
I leave you alone.
The two of you in peace,
But my mind in chaos.
Trying to let go,
But continuing to hold on.
Taking a step forward;
I whisper your name one last time:
Josh.
So there it is. By the way...Josh is ...well I'd rather not tell you, openly. I know this poem needs some work, and I'm trying to fix it up.
Enjoying your time.
Looking at your smile,
