• Chapter 10 - The Fiati Woods

    Drakutha woke up in the fog,It was still dim outside on the grounds and breakfast hadn't started yet.He was very alarm that the caretaker,or should he say The sneaky creep man as the students would call Professor Xel,Who wondered around the school 24/6.(He only slept for one whole hour..) He heard footsteps in the halls which meant a student or Xel was coming.Drakutha swung his feet over the bed carefully and tiptoed downstairs.As he got on the landing he crouched down to the point where he could only see the bottom of the portrait and the floor.He saw old,teared up and green boots walk in the room.Apparently he was mumbling to himself considering Drakutha could hear grumbles which were meant to be words.He managed to understand,"Thos' rehtty ol' kids better not b' up.",Drakutha widened his eyes a bit.He did not want to be caught,That meant he had to spend 2 hours shining Professor Xel's muddy,grimy,slimy,shoes.

    Drakutha saw the pair of feet walk closer to the dormitory steps.Drakutha quickly backed up in the door and peeked down the stairs.Buldrian Xel was staring at each step with his droopy eyes,His nose was very big.Thats why sometimes the kids called him 'Rudolf.' Drakutha found this very offensive but he also thought of it as quite funny.He scrambled into his bed once again and fell asleep until 10:00 in the morning,He was allowed to get up at this time so he slipped on his clothes and his slacks and marched down the stairs.Quickly followed by Elrokk who was still putting on his shirt.He heard several girls whistle at him from the girls rooms.He winked and nearly fell down the flight of steps.Drakutha arrived at the bottom of the steps,He could hear the girls laughing from in the main room.He grinned as Elrokk was down the stairs,Blushing redder then Xel's nose.

    Drakutha was messing with his shirt as Elrokk said,"Granath.",The lady in the portrait was frowning as she shook her head."The password was changed,Dear.",she said politely.Elrokk and Drakutha panicked,Then sat down in the main room,Sighing.Seirta came down the steps and smiled."Stuck in here?",she asked.Drakutha and Elrokk nodded.Seirta rolled her eyes and walked up to the portrait,which was snoring."Remindent Dolfacius.",she said.The portrait swung open for her and her only,Drakutha and Elrokk rushed to the portrait but it swung back."Remindent Dolfacius.",Drakutha said.The portrait swung open again and he and Elrokk jumped out.Seirta was waiting outside of the portrait,Checking her watch and starting to walk to the Dining hall.Closely falling behind Drakutha and Elrokk.Headmaster Wardle had just finished a very long speech,Most of the students now would have been sleeping.But their fellow classmates and friends woke them up,It was very moist and the large windows displayed of the ocean and the nearest beach.The sky was a dull gray and the clouds were almost completely opaque.

    After breakfast Drakutha,Elrokk,and Seirta were discussing the woods on the grounds.Magical animals can all live in peace while listening to Professor Gidly in Herbology babble on about Horcanthopis plants and other out of interest subjects.Thats exactly where Drakutha,Seirta,and Elrokk were.Professor Gidly shushed the children amung the class and continued on."Horcanthopis plants are very rare,They are not poisoned nor do they bit,Or p***k your skin in any way.They are fairly friendly and they are a great pleasure to have in your family.They grow in the our own woods.",she said,Acting interested in telling the students this.Again,The same students that had nearly fell asleep at breakfast were snoozing and Professor Gidly was yelling at them,Apparently trying to wake them up.Drakutha heard the bell ring,Professor Gidly dismissed the students and Drakutha was glad she did."Those 'Horcanthopis' plants get boring,All they do is sleep and whistle.",Elrokk said.Drakutha and Seirta nodded,Next they had break.

    Drakutha lead them to the woods,It was very dark and eerie and about every single tree,Which were all oak,had long roots sprouting from the ends of their stumps.Elrokk looked terrified but Seirta looked confident and calm.They walked along,Dodging the tree roots and looking for Centaurs.They heard the pitter patter of hoofs on the solid earth floor.3 Centaurs galloped up to them and glared at them."Hello.",a chesnut Centaur with a fluffy tail said."I am Victor.",He added on.The other Centaurs nodded.One was white and had a curly tail,The other was black and had a straight,yet long,tail."I am Teropitha.",the white one said.She was a girl Centaur,Which were very rare."And I am Meeklin.",the black one said in a deep voice.Teropitha smiled and said,"Welcome to the Fiati woods,A place of peace and friendship.Your are most certainly welcome to join in the fun.",Drakutha and Elrokk exchanged unsure looks,That I-dont-know-about-this look.Seirta smiled,"I am Seirta,This is Elrokk,And Drakutha.",she said pointing out Drakutha and Elrokk.The centaurs galloped off."I never thought they would be so friendly.",Drakutha said.Seirta nodded as they walked deeper into the forest.There was alot of centaurs.The only thing they hadnt seen was a skeletal crampfir.They are bony horses with wings and large hoofs.

    Drakutha heard the bell ring,Seirta,Elrokk,and Drakutha all started running back to the opening of the woods.Which was very far,As they were running Elrokk tripped over a root.Seirta had to glance back and make sure he was alright,Elrokk caught up and they had reached the end of the woods.Students were walking in from the woods along with Drakutha,Seirta,and Elrokk.Thats what made Drakutha feel a bit more secure.They were at the doors,They swung open and welcomed in the students.The hall was buzzing with conversations and laughter.They headed in the Dining Hall for another quick speech."Classes have been delayed today,Please remain somewhere in the school grounds or inside.",Headmaster Wardle said.The school cheered and scrambled to their main rooms.
