Racing down the dimly lit streets. No one seems to notice the four shadows, they stop. They all look at each other.
“Oh c’mon Nikki we’ve been running around for hours,” whispers one of the shadows.
“Shut up,” the shadow called Nikki whispers back.
“What are we doing anyway, we aren’t allowed to be out at night, and we shouldn’t be in the town,” growled the short stocky shadow.
“Yeah, what are we doin’ here away?”
“Would you all be quiet!” Nikki perked her ears up. “Follow me!” They continued to race down the streets. Soon the streets ended and they were in the Canadian forests. Three of shadows stopped. Nikki stopped too.
“I can’t believe you!” shouted the short stocky one. The three had seemed to know what was going on. “The pack will kick us out!”
“No they won’t Cody! Not if we can kill it!” Nikki pleaded.
“You can’t be serious! Just the four of us, taking on a moose!” Yelped the slender one.
“Not you to Aphrodite! Look our pack is starving!” Said Nikki. “If we bring back the moose they’ll respect us more and let us go on hunts!” She paused. “Please, just trust me. I know we can do it. I sense this moose is small and lost.”
“She’s right,” sighed a tall muscular shadow. “Maybe we should go.”
“Thanks Apollo!” Yelped Nikki. The group agreed and they sped off towards the moose. Through the darkness they ran, and then they saw it. 6 feet, very chubby, a dark brown, and each antler were about 2 feet wide. Aphrodite ran out of the bushes and charged at the rear. She sunk her teeth right in and the moose shrieked in shock. He bucked around trying to rid of Aphrodite. Cody started nipping at his heels, being careful not to be kicked. Apollo jumped on his back. The moose was frantic and angry. Nikki ran in front of it. The moose immediately charged after her. Nikki ran in circles everywhere. Until she made a sharp turn around a large willow tree. The moose charged into the willow, becoming dazed and confused. Exhausted the moose closed his eyes. The group let out a deafening howl.
“I wonder how the pack will react,” pondered Apollo.
“Mm-hm…” sigh Nikki. Mist gathered up from the ground and incased Nikki. There was so much mist that you couldn’t even see her face. When the mist cleared there was no longer a wolf but a scrawny girl. The girls hair was a black-brown and stopped at her shoulders. Her eyes matched the color of grass when the sun shines on it. Her skin was a delicate tan. Nikki sat down and fiddled with the necklace around her neck. It was white ivory, carved into the shape of a whale’s tale.

- Looks like a nice start, or mid part, whichever part it is in your story.
