• THE BATTLE ON THE TRILLIAN SUN

Rydal walked outside and breathed in a big gush of air. On the sky planet of Dali the air is the purest and cleanest in all of the system. To his left is the flat planet of Fonnda, to his right the planet that holds earth’s only inhabitants, Ronix. Rydal looked hard at the brilliant Trillian Sun as it glows a magnificent deep blue behind the Hades Comet Space Port as his best friend, Karia, came running down the beaten up path. The path is hundreds of years old, which isn’t near as old as the planet. The city was above the ground in the sky as the surface of the planet is inhabitable. Many years ago, the planet was attacked by an unknown enemy, causing the ground to become unstable. The rivers became acidic, the ground crumbled from the slightest touch. Volcanoes erupted daily, earthquakes shake the planet. No wonder nobody dares go on the surface anymore. Rydal’s father went to the surface seven years ago to research why the surface was so unstable. He never returned. Rydal was the only son of Maria and Thomas, now only his mother cares for him. Rydal is 15, about 4” 9’, slim and athletic. He has whitey-blue eyes, almost completely white. His hair is a deep blue, like that of the sun. His skin is fair and limbs are very flexible. He is supposed to be flexible for his species. Karia has dark purple hair and whitey-purple eyes, fair skin and just as flexible as Rydal. She’s the same age, shorter, but not as athletic as Rydal.
“Rydal, you coming or what?” Karia heaved between breaths, “At the rate you move the celebration will be over.”

The Rando celebration, the one day of the year when the six planets are closest. The Rando system consists of six planets. Pression, the aquatic planet. Completely covered by water, except for the landing pad for ships which lead to the underwater city. Grande, the forest planet and the largest of the six. Fonnda, the flat planet, nothing but flat grounds. Dali, the planet of the sky cities. Ronix, an Earth replica designed for the inhabitants of Earth after it was destroyed. Lastly, the tiny planet of Mino. A volcanic planet where the farmers have claimed there residence. Each planet is only a short plane trip away. The atmosphere changes on each planet, even though the planets share the same atmosphere.
“Don’t worry I’m ready to go,” Rydal laughed.
    “Then hurry up.”
The two started walking to the airport. Rydal stopped.
“Ummmm…..” Rydal thought, scratching his head. “Where’s the celebration again?”
“You are hopeless,” Karia laughed, “Ronix remember. It’s always held there.”
“Oh, right. I remember now. Let’s go. I’ll race ya.”
Rydal sprinted down the path with Karia right behind him.

The arrived at the airport at ten o’clock, Dali time. The celebration starts at ten o’clock Ronix time, which meant that they had two hours to get there.
“I’ll go get the tickets, try not to drift off.”
“I’m not that hopeless Karia.” Rydal looked insulted. Karia just laughed and walked over to the receptionist.
“Two to Ronix please,” Karia asked.
“That’ll be 400 Mods,” the receptionist answered.
“What?” Karia looked shocked. “Trips to Ronix are supposed to free on the day of the Rando celebration.”
“Since when have flights been free?”
“SINCE THE LAST 200 YEARS ON THIS DAY!!”
“I’m sorry, no mods, no trip. Now I’m going to have to ask you to step out of line for the other customers.”
“Let me get this through your thick skull, newbie,” Karia began as calmly as she could, “I’m gonna get my two FREE tickets, or I’ll jump over this desk and strangle you myself.”
“Sir, we have a problem down here,” said the receptionist, speaking into the microphone on the desk. A man walked from an office behind him and stood next the man.
“What seems to be the problem Steve?” the Manager asked.
“This girl thinks she can get free tickets to Ronix today because of the celebration.”
“And what’s the problem with that?” the Manager asked, looking at Steve.
“Yeah STEVE, what IS the problem with that? Hm?” Karia asked smirking.
“Well… it’s just… doesn’t she need mods to pay for the trip?” Steve asked nervously.
“Steve, I know you’re new here but I thought you knew that tickets to Ronix are free on the day of the Rando celebration. Now look at all the people that have been held up because of this predicament.” The Manager stated, pointing at the line of people.”
“I’m sorry Sir,” Steve bowed his head.
“I’m sorry Karia, here are your tickets.” The Manager handed the tickets to Karia. “Tell Rydal I said hi.”
“I will, thanks Mr Hanson.” Karia walked back to Rydal. Karia walked back to Rydal.
“Did everything go okay?” Rydal looked suspiciously at Karia.
“Yes, of course. Same as every year,” Karia smiled innocently.

The sky ship was a large vessel of the sky, big enough to carry over 30 000 people with room for cargo and luggage. It is of slim design with long fins, that of a shark. Three large engines in a pyramid formation sit on the rear of the ship, with two engines on the under side of both side fins. It's painted a jet black with a chrome trim along the side and top. The vessel is comprised of bedrooms for all passengers who book them. A recreation room and bar are available to passengers with an outdoor area that can view all six planets. The ride from Dali to Ronix is a short hour but only travels as fast for free because of the Rando celebration, otherwise it would take up to five hours for as little as 20 Mods.
