• The race thrilled her. Her heart pounded; the dust thrashing from side-to-side. He was making this too easy! She would pass this...This was beneath her...

    "Time!" Professor Perry called. "Put down your pencils and flip over your exams."
    Ayla looked down with a smirk. She could feel the exasperatedness of the other students...She had been the only one to finish. Again.
    "Give me your exam, freak." Jordan, 'the jock', said rudely. Ayla passed her exam to him as Cora passed her exam forward as well.
    "Mr. Harlow, do you have something to say to the class?" Professor Perry leaned against his desk with half of the unfinished papers grasped in his hand. A face just waiting for an answer that he knew would never come was plastered on his face. The class was snickering all around Ayla, and she could feel the anger building up inside Jordan.
    "No, I have nothing to say, Professor." Jordan turned around and glared at Ayla. Ayla winked and returned her attention to Perry.
    Ayla shifted in her seat uneasily as she felt the presence of someone's eyes upon her. Her black tulle skirt suddenly felt too small and her suit-jacket and tie seemed to choke her. She quickly glanced around the room, being careful not to give away the fact that she was disturbed about something.
    However, Cora somehow noticed her uneasiness and put her hand on Ayla's shoulder cautiously.
    "Ayla...? Are you alright?" Ayla jumped in surprise to the friendly hand on her shoulder and turned around to Cora with wide eyes.
    The typical Twilight iris of Ayla had changed dramatically, it now a sharp drastic silver. Ayla also felt her fangs begin to protrude...
    Cora had caught her offguard and now she was going into her 'defense' or 'hunting mode'.

    No, Ayla, don't lose control...Stop, Ayla; stop it! You can't eat Cora! Cora is your friend! Your only friend... She told herself over and over to lay off, but all she could think of was all the soft, warm, drink trickling through Cora's veins...She wanted it...Wanted it all...
