Once there was a girl, Jamie, and she loved to dream.
She would go to bed early so she could dream for a longer time and she would ignore her teachers at school so she can daydream in class. Even though the teachers would always scold her she would get good grades and they had no reason.
"Jamie, pay attention," one teacher yelled at her one day. "Why do you keep drifting off?"
"Drifting off?" Jamie asked, confused.
"Yes, yes. Drifting off. You never pay attention. If you don't start then I will give you detention."
Jamie sighed and tried to pay attention. She just ended up staring at the front of the class with a blank look on her face.
One day the councilor called her in.
"Jamie," she asked, frustrated, "what is so important that you day dream about that you can't pay attention in class?"
"Well, no offense to you, but I don't think you will under stand what I dream about. And if you don't mind my asking," Jamie stated, "why do you, and the teachers, care so much if I pay attention, since I never miss a day of school, do my homework, and get straight A's?"
The councilor just looked dumbfounded at her as she walked out.
One day she confided in her only friend, Chad.
"Hey wanna know a secret?" She asked him one day at lunch.
"Sure, what's up?"
"Well I decided to tell you what I dream about." She looked excited.
"Go on," Chad said, all to eager to find out the inner working of her mind.
"Well...," she bit her lower lip and then continued in a gush after a small pause. "I dream about fantasy. I'm writing a book in my head an soon hope to get it down on paper."
Chad stared at her with a look of awe on his face.
"It has magic, adventure and romance in it," Jamie continued not noticing the look on Chads face.
After school that day Chad found Jamie walking to he bus, with a deep-in-thought look on her face.
"Hey Jamie?" Chad said stopping her.
She jerked out of her deep thought. "Yeah?"
He stared at her for a few moments before stating, "Never mind it's not important."
She shrugged, "OK! I'll see you tomorrow!" She then practically skipped to her bus.
Chad watched her back and sighed. It seems that he'll never be able to tell her his true feelings.
