The crowd cheered with joy as the famous outlaw William Banner was brought up onto the platform of the gallows for all to see.
“You heartless killer!” a voice screamed “Go to Hell you demon!”
William stood there, absorbing in the hate of the crowd. Not a single emotion crossing his face. He paid no attention to them. He considered them only to be mindless souls, roaming around the earth like hopeless pigs.
The sheriff of the small town began to make his way up onto the platform as the crowd continued to throw insults at the convicted man. When he reached the center of the platform, he raised his hands for the crowd to go silent. The roaring crowd turned into the quiet discomforting silence of a ghost town.
The Sheriff turned around and looked William in the eye. The Sheriff stiffened as he looked into Williams cold grey eyes. They were the kind of eyes that didn’t belong on an eighteen year old boy. They were the eyes of a killer.
The Sheriff moved closer to William and began to talk to him. No one in the crowd could hear what he was saying to the man.
Turning around, the Sheriff walked off and away from the platform. The crowd remained silent. William looked off into the distance before he shouted his final words.
“GO TO HELL JOHN BANNER!”
The crowd cheered as the trap door opened, and William’s limp body dangled from the rope.
