The Edge of the World
"So . . . this is it huh?"
"I guess so."
The two figures stared out at the open sky, the swarming white clouds and the miles of nothingness below it. There, two figures stood, at the edge of the world, just staring out into the nothingness.
"Hey,"
"What?"
"Is this really it? Is this really what's after?"
"What do you mean?"
"Is this really what's after life? Nothingness?"
The taller figure pondered a bit.
"I guess it depends. What do you see out there?"
The smaller figure looked out into the nothingness. It was black, cold, and bare. Nothing. But a small glimmer of light appeared within the figure's view and she smiled.
"I see a light."
"Then, there is something after."
She turned her eyes to him for a moment and smiled.
"I guess so."

- Some formatting issues to be had with the dialogue- check out my entries in the arena for some good examples of how to go about it. Also, never start a sentence with a conjunction (conjunctions being 'and', 'or, but'), otherwise I enjoyed reading this. Well done.

- its nice. it brings a sense off inner peace... it could be good for a preface of a story.
