• “Sin, Corruption, Plague, these things still haunt my land?” his fingers twitched in anger upon his throne’s arm rests. “I will not stand for this, you will fix this or suffer the consequences”
“ye….yes sire!” the messenger said, cold sweat running down his back.
“you better, or you and all of them will suffer.” the ruler said, his hands clutching the armrest, his fingers digging into it. The messenger quickly left his throne room, The Ruler was cruel, and expected a lot from everyone, but to anger him was to anger god himself, in fact, only a select few could call him his name, any who were not chosen to, simply called him “The Ruler”.
He stood up and walked to his balcony, it overlooked the entire capital city, his palace was on the highest mountain in all of the land he ruled, the land around it had suffered his anger though, it was black, charred, and barren of any life whatsoever. “These peons! They think they can do as they want, they think they can bring down my values, disobey my laws…” he then discharged a handful of Black lightning shocking the ground around him, sending the burnt and charred dirt flying into the air. “I’ll show them, my cities may be corrupt, but they’ll learn.” he then walked slowly back to his throne and sat down, feeling a little less angry, discharging some of his power often helped him do so, it also kept the capital city in line, they see the black lightning they know he is angered, it was often said that he caused the rain, and thunderstorms, this was only when he was pleased though, he helped the crops thrive and live, course…the lightning from the storms was white, his was always black. A few thought perhaps it wasn’t him that caused the storms, but little did any of them know the truth.

It was hundreds of years ago, perhaps a thousand. The old ruler of the land, the fairest maiden in all of the land, gave birth to twins, a boy and a girl. It was said the gods and devils themselves had given them powers, the children had a strange aura about them, the boy a black light coming from him, his eyes a dark green and his hair was a dark gray. The Girl had a white aura, and had eyes a light blue, almost silver, her hair was a pure white. The Mother then fell sick, an Ill omen the wise-men of the land determined, the girl stayed by her mother’s side, and tended to what she needed. The Boy never went to see his mother, he ran away and lived among the animals in the land, he found out he had a power, the power to summon lightning, Nature itself refused to approach him, as if fearful. Years passed and the mother of the blessed children feel even sicker, near death, the Girl did everything in her power to try and make her mother better. But nothing came from this. The boy, still living in the woods had slowly began his descent into corruption. He thought since his mother was the previous ruler of the land, he deserved that title now, with powers such as his, nature itself couldn’t stop him, he marched to the capital, to his mother’s home, unaware of the events that transpired before his entrance.

“Come Grace, My child…” the dying mother called the girl to her side,
“Yes mother?” she held her mothers hand, feeling that it was withering her mothers time on earth had come to it’s end.
“Grace, my child….You and your brother are special…” she said in a weak voice, “You were born without a father, the god’s themselves willed your existence, and you have a great power in you…I don’t know if your brother found out about his, but in time…yours will awaken and Know Grace, the child who stayed by my side in my times of need, I love…” her mother’s voice fell silent and her hand went limp, Grace felt a tear come to her eye, and drop onto the cold hand. She left the room, informing the guards on her mother’s status. As she did the door flew open, thunder and lightning following the shadow, shocking the guards and whoever stood in his path. Her Brother.

Grace still trying to recover from the loss of her mother, tried to fight him, but it proved useless, Her Brother overpowered her in all ways, Then when all hope seemed to have left her, it happened, as she was about to be struck by her brother’s power, a white aura surrounded her. And white lightning protected her from his attack. Her power had awoken. The fight continued late into the night, both siblings suffering major wounds, and a few broken bones. As skilled as she was for just discovering her powers, her brother had more time to hone his skills, and in time this proved her undoing, she could not best him. Grace fell unconscious as her brother charged one last bolt, to finish his sister, a large white charge covered her and she vanished. Her brother, not caring what had happened to her, decided to spread the word of his rule over the land. The people would know, The Land would now and forever be ruled by, Migiri

Grace had hidden in the forest for years, knowing of her brothers high standard for the people and the terror he caused, But she could do nothing, he had years on her he mastered her powers, she was far from that. She mourned her mother everyday, knowing that Migiri hadn’t given her the burial she deserved, if anything he sent her body into the bottom of the river, to feed the fishes, an unfit burial for a ruler of her standing. Grace had to go through the same phase that Migiri went into, of course Nature accepted her and respected her though, she lived well not isolated in the woods, but surrounded by “friends” of the forest. And years had pasted, she tried honing her skills more, but respect her new friends and their family’s homes too much to use her powers to destroy them. The years had turned to centuries, and then, A time had come…for the gods to get a second chance.

Grace, surrounded by her woodland friends, gave birth…a gift from the heavens just like she and her brother were, A Girl, White hair as her mother had, and the green eyes of her brother, but in no way did this child seem evil like him. Years passed and Graced raised her daughter, feeling the same illness that took her mother passing onto her, but she knew if she was to show any sign of it, Tanya would fall into the same rut her mother did, instead Grace focused on trying to awaken Tanya’s powers. The girl was a natural only a few years into it and she was already surpassing her mother in skills, plus she had youth on her side, Migiri was probably succumbing to the poisons of time, as Grace was, and as their mother did.

“Mother?” the girl now age 19 asked her mother, whose hair had grayed more and more over the years and her eyes lost their former luster.
    “Yes dear?”
“Why is it that uncle, (as the girl had to call Migiri, mentioning his name was a crime.) hates us and says we’re corrupt?”
“Cause Tanya, your uncle was born with a aura like ours, only black as night as ours is pure and gleams like the sunbeams, he wants the world exactly how he sees it, but that can never happen.” as she finished the withered woman that was once Grace began coughing, Tanya comforted her mother, as she had before when it happened. She knew her mother was not long for this earth, as she learned from stories Grace told of her grandmother, she showed the signs of the illness, but proved to be strong as example for Tanya. “Come mother, you need to rest.” the girl said guiding her mother to their small home in the woods, it was a hollowed out Redwood, the largest in the forest, nature cared for Grace and Tanya as they found it, small as it was inside, it still housed a endless number of friends, miracles from nature herself. Hours passed as Tanya helped her mother try to regain strength, but as Grace had failed, Tanya could do nothing against the power of the god’s curse. Night fell, and her mother died, leaving the young girl alone, as she began to cry, a new power awoke, something Migiri and Grace hadn’t had, a tempest of rain began to fall on the land.

The power of rain wasn’t all that followed her mother’s death, she could now conjure great windstorms, hailstorms, snow, weather became the girl’s plaything, and it took the emotional suffering of losing her mother for it to come into full bloom. Tanya walked to the edge of the forest, and looked out upon the miles of plains, and whispered a sacred promise to herself. “To avenge my mother, my grandmother, and bring glory back to the land, Migiri, enjoy your last days on earth.” she began walking to the nearest town, to find out exactly how far it was to the capital and her b*****d of an uncle, Grace having teleported away and finding herself in the forest upon re-awaking didn’t have any maps or things on her to show her daughter exactly, but she often pointed its direction and told Tanya, “To the west, lies the capital and upon the highest peak within it’s walls, Migiri’s stronghold of a palace”. Tanya reached the small settlement in a few hours, the townsfolk surprised to see a beautiful girl wearing clothes made from leaves and nature, it was a sight none of them had ever seen, and the wearer…a angel of ungodly beauty.

Tanya, receiving strange looks from the people, didn’t understand that she didn’t fit in, and had no clue where to go to ask for information, then she was approached by several men all clad in armor, and on their side’s long swords. “Excuse me, Miss?” the leader of the group asked her.
Tanya still bewildered by this new place with strange sights and the odd people, wasn’t really paying any attention to him.
    “Miss?”
“hm? Yes?” she answered him, finally tuning back into reality.
“Miss, I’m afraid we can’t have you walking about in leafs, we’ve got the Legion guards coming, if they see you, they’d report back to Our Divine Ruler, and the whole village would be in jeopardy, so you need to leave, I’m sorry to say or at least change to normal clothes.”
“. . .I don’t see why you listen to him, he is a corrupt King unfit for his crown.”
“MA’AM! PLEASE! Hold your tongue! He has eyes and ears all around.”
An elderly woman then approached the group, and cleared her throat getting their attention, “I’ll take the girl, I’ll take care of her.”
“Alright Sheena, if you really want to take in another kid.” the guards then walked away, a few looking back and muttering to themselves.

Tanya and Sheena sat by the fire in the overly stuffed chaired that Sheena had in her house. “So my mother met with you and foresaw all this.” Tanya asked, adjusting the clothes Sheena gave her to wear.
“Yes, Me and Grace were friends for years, and a few years after you were born, she seeked me out, and told me soon she would die and you would probably come seeking the way to your uncle’s for vengeance, Grace always planned things out like this.” Sheena smiled at Tanya. “She asked me to give you almost everything you’d need to get there, and for years I’ve worked on it.”
“what all will I need? If it took you years to get it all, surely there must be more than I thought to this.”
“It’s not that much, Mainly Forging you a pass into the capital took the longest.” she handed Tanya the pass, “It looks exactly like the real ones, they’ll never tell the difference.”

“Thank you Miss. Sheena, for everything” Tanya said, getting on the horse Sheena gave her.
“No Problem Tanya, Anything to help avenge Grace and her mother and get Migiri out of power.” the old woman responded, “Take care of Leo now, I raised him since he was a calve.” she continued patting the horse.
“I will, and I will slay my uncle, For My mother, Grandmother, and you, Sheena.”
Tanya rode off after checking the map Sheena had given her, waving back to the old woman and the few orphans who came out to see who their “mother” always told them would come, “A girl clad in nature, with a godly aura, she’ll free the land from his tyranny.” she preached to them. The children were raised through Migiri’s rein so they knew not what A pure government was, what made a leader good and bad, but in time, they would learn. Sheena was happy to have helped pave the way for Tanya, to help their next empress.
