Chapter two
~She Lives Again~
Weeks passed that seemed like years. Stacey had become normal, she worked as an assassin and curse remover and she had gotten herself the nickname magic, for she could remove any curse thrown at her. Stacey moved into a small apartment in Tishmaul (The city of elves) and was living a good life not thinking about her last job as a home renovator. Henry had grown huge and Stacey had found out that Henry was magic. He was like a drug dog but, with curses and he was a bunny.
Walking home one day with Henry in her arms and a bag of gold on her belt, Stacey realized that she was being followed. It sounded like three men, probably fairy and they were all armed. It made Stacey want to laugh, three men one girl and one rabbit. The odds weren’t in these men’s favor.
She felt one man leap so she turned and roundhouse kicked him in the balls. Then she put Henry on the ground and punched the man who came at her. Stacey pulled out her gun and used the butt to knock the third guy down then pointed her gun at the three and scooped Henry up. “Who sent you?” she asked. “Our master.” One said quietly. She shot him in the leg, “Don’t be stupid. Who sent you?” the man to her front said “ The Fairy king, he requests your head.” She sighed “Why?” Stacey asked. “Because you killed Stacey VonStruck.” He replied, cringing at the gun being pointed at his head. “I did?” she asked quietly. Then she walked away. These men were obviously crazy, Stacey did not kill herself nor, did anyone else kill her.
The whole thing bothered her so much, sure she had a new name now but, she didn’t kill her old name, she just didn’t use it for safety purposes. Currently Stacey was Amber Goodfellow, a sixteen year old girl who was orphaned as a child. She lives alone except for her pet rabbit Hatches. It was close enough to real that it was an easy part to play but, no one knew of her past life. No one.
The days passed and Stacey made the decision to visit the Fairy king to show him that she was very much alive. So about a week later, Amber Goodfellow took a trip to the kingdom of the Fairies. Only she went in a different way, crawling through windows with a rabbet on her back. That was the real way into the castle, just not the ideal way.
Stacey was now standing against her last obstacle, the window into the King’s bedroom. Of course she avoided the princes room so it was almost nightfall by the time she arrived. She hid in the shadows as the guards walked past as soon as they were out of sight she walked towards the big window planning on making an entrance by diving into the window from the ledge above. It would be fun, and scare the bag of bones shitless.
But, to Stacey’s surprise she didn’t find the king laying in bed no, she found Azure standing shirtless and having a servant brush his long hair. He looked amazing, but all she could see was his back, with a large three prong scar on the right shoulder. Man, he looked good. She just watched until the servant left and he was facing the other direction looking at a portrait of his father. Was the king dead? Man, if he was she had been out of the loop way to long. But, she couldn’t wait anymore so Stacey took a run towards the window and dove into it flipping midair and landing on her feet with the glass falling all around her. Azure turned around and looked surprised and startled but, not scared. You should be scared it a figure just broke through your window, especially if that figure had a sword on back (underneath a rabbit) and was clad heat to toe in black (including her face). But, the prince wasn’t his face became calm, “Who has sent you to kill me?” he asked her quietly. “Me, myself and I.” Stacey replied. He did not recognize her voice, that hurt Stacey for some reason. “Fine, what have I done for you to come and kill me yourself?” he sounded so dull, his voice so unkind. “You sent an assassin to kill me.” Stacey said undoing the cloth around her face, as it fell to the ground she added, “Because apparently I killed myself.” He did not hide the fear in his eyes the disgust on his teeth, the shock on his face. “I’m not dead yet.” She said with a sneer that crossed her face. Azure took a step towards her, his face changed, still afraid but, now he was wondering, was this real? He walked over and touched Stacey’s face almost as if he thought it was going to fall apart. His hand was soft and warm Stacey wanted to hold it and tell him that life would be fine but she forced herself to back away. “I did what I came here to do.” She said and darted outside.
Stacey convinced herself that staying a little bit longer would be ok. Just a bit couldn’t hurt. But every moment she was in the City of Fairies it felt like she was walking on needles. The second day in the city, she went for a walk in the market and walked into a girl with black hair and a scar above her right eye. “Shay?” she asked surprised. The girl looked at Stacey for a minute and said “Stacey?” as if she was looking at a corpse. “The one and only.” Stacey said and Shay laughed.
Stacey and Shay bought bred from the market and walked to Shays apartment. It was covered in illustrations, of Stacey and Azure and Henry. “Wow.” She said walking into the dimly lit place. “I’ve been looking for you for so long you know, and it doesn’t help that people were claiming you dead.” Shay said defending herself. Stacey laughed “Why?” she asked Shays face turned into a grin, “You have a job, Magic.” Stacey cocked her head slightly, “What’s the job?” she asked. Shay turned to her with an even bigger grin. “Surveillance.”
