• In the darkest shadow, I stand alone. I see no one, I feel nothing. I am cold, though the weather is warm, and the sun is bright. I am the creature of the night. Not most humans can see me-because I am not human. I may look human, but I am not.
    When I was a little girl, a crystal was embedded in me by a witch named Luna. My parents say they had no choice, but to allow Luna to stick the crystal inside me, and have me be less human than everyone else. But I know they had another choice. What it was, I don't know. But not one person can have just one choice. You always have another choice. I am going to find Luna and get her to take the crystal out of me. I want to be normal. Do you know what it's like to live where not one normal person can see you? Not even your own parents? That's right, my own parents would rather have a crystal embedded in me than being able to see me, or to even hold me. They can hear me, though. But that isn't enough. For all three of us.
    My parents say that Luna lives in a secluded area in the darkest part of the Forest of Everrestt. My two best friends-Chloe and Heather-are going on this journey to help me find Luna. I just hope that she is alive. I am going to make her retrieve the crystal, no matter what it takes...
