Lights all around struggled to stay on as they flashed every few seconds. Even wires that were once hidden above the panels of the ceiling were cut and dangled towards the ground. Everything that had been in the centre of the room was dramatically thrown in to the walls, only one thing laid on the cold linoleum floor. Just an ordinary girl with a casual navy blue dress that hung past her knees followed by black tights. Kali had trouble standing up; like it was the first time she had stood up in her whole life. Dreaming would be the first thing people would of thought if they saw the state of the room and the situation but Kali couldn't remember what her dreams were like, she wasn't even sure if she had dreams. Slowly she continued her journey across the room to investigate the scene; so many questions had been going through her mind since she awoke. Only then she noticed she had no shoes on her feet when a large piece glass cut the side of her foot, leaving a rip and a shallow cut on her skin. It wasn't deep enough to hurt but now Kali was aware she had to plan her foot work around the room to avoid hurting herself any more.Grabbing on to a small desk chair to steady herself as she tip toed, only then she noticed something like those hospital bands they put on patients.
"Class A subject Kali, "she read out loud to herself assuming they were no one else in the room to listen anyway. "Kali..."as soon as she saw the subject name it sounded so familiar, it had to be her name, of course it was strapped to her own wrist. Something seemed to have clicked inside of her head as she scanned the room quickly. Even though the contents had been thrown around the room she could make out the expensive technology and paper work surrounding her. Obviously Kali knew now that she was in some sort of research facility but still how did she get there and why couldn't she remember anything. Kali still had her general common sense but it was like someone had erased her memory, she couldn't remember her family or where she lived. Suddenly she felt scared, why would anyone want to do this to her? Also what had happened in this room for it to turn out like this, with herself ending up without a scratch? Her eyes drifted towards the opening of the room, the door had been blasted off its hinges and thrown in to the wall opposite in the corridor. That was good news, at least she wasn't trapped here, Kali could go search for someone and find out what was happening.
So she carefully stepped through the door way and proceeded to walk down the corridor. The wreckage only seemed to be around the room she woke up in. As she ran through the one floor building, Kali randomly checked rooms, panicking finding no body in sight at all. Her search ended as she came to a stop in a perfectly set out reception, one of those receptions you would find at a doctors or a dentists, to ensure you to keep calm and relaxed. Although Kali felt anything but relaxed. Walking up to the desk she wished they was somebody waiting behind the computer to answer her questions but they wasn't any paper work, nothing just a computer chair and a computer with a crack in the screen of the monitor. So the only thing she could do now was to get out of the building and find someone out in the world that actually knows what has happened to her. Finally another clue, Kali thought as she picked up a newspaper which she had found on a small coffee table by the chairs in the waiting area.
May 12th 2075. As Kali thought about the date intently in her head, searching for the right information, she was so certain that the last time she was awake she remembered it being the year 2015. The more she thought about it the more it seemed unreal though, as if her mind refused to believe that she might have been asleep for about sixty years. Next step was to approach the automatic doors but with the power been cut they were no longer automatic. Kali attempted to pull the doors apart. These were secure doors and they were not going to open. Kali searched for another opening, they had to be a fire exit somewhere but by the looks of the building she didn't want to go on a search mission just for a way out, and instead she chose to make her own way out. Picking up one of the chairs Kali tried throwing it at one of the windows that already had an existing crack on it. The window was as persistent as the doors; it was not going to let her out. The chair dropped to the ground and she could feel tears swelling up at the bottom of her eyes.
"Please let me out!" screaming she closed her eyes to stop the tears from rolling down her cheeks. For a moment as she slammed her eyes shut, she heard a short smashing noise. Re opening her eyes Kali couldn't believe what she was witnessing. This had to be dream nothing like this could happen it goes against everything she learnt in her science lessons. The glass on the window had smashed in to tiny pieces about the size golf balls but varied in different shapes. Instead of dropping to the ground instantly they floated in mid air. Kali moved her hand toward the floating sea of broken glass but before she could touch anything the glass floated away from her hand as if she had some sort of force field around her body. So she took a step through the window to the outside. Not a single shard touched Kali. "How did I...?" Kali questioned herself turning to look at the remaining glass in the air and at that very instant the glass crashed to the ground, it was like nothing happened, and if she told someone what she just did no way they would believe her so she decided to keep it in her head for the time being. In another window Kali saw her reflection of herself and this is when she realised she had long brunette hair that reached to her elbows. Her eye colour was more difficult to make out; they seemed dark by what she could see in her reflection. Her lips seemed a bit chapped like they hadn't been taken care of for so long and her hair didn't look perfect, if she was home Kali would have arranged a hairdresser's appointment straight away if she ever saw her hair in this state.
The front to the building was set out beautifully with patches of grass and many different flowers decorating the path ways, it had definitely been well kept and they had enough money to spend. Just around the corner was a giant car park with only two cars in it. Kali turned round instantly at the sound of a motorbike roaring to a stop across from her. It hadn't been careful to stay on the road instead it went across all the greenery leaving tire marks to park up close to her. The figure was all covered in black leather and their face was covered by a plain black helmet. The mysterious newcomer stepped off the black Kawsaki bike.
"Can you tell me where I am?" politely Kali asked the stranger in hope they were here to give her answers and take her home. In return she got no answer, they didn't even take off their helmet, and obviously this person did not want to be seen. Kali took one step back slowly feeling intimidated by this persons approach. As the stranger moved towards her they pulled out a small object from inside their jacket. At first Kali was expecting it to be some sort of weapon which any human instinct would think when they was experiencing something like this. To Kali's surprise it was a small spray bottle. It hardly seemed threatening. They sprayed the contents just in front of her face and before she could blink she blacked out in a flash. Luckily the stranger caught her before hitting the pavement.
"I don't get what all the fuss is about," a deep faint voice escaped from the helmet. "Maybe they just had a power cut" the male joked as he looked over at the building. Before he could make a rapid escape the centre of the building exploded, leaving dark smoke rising in to the air. "Maybe they is more to you than I thought," he mumbled as he held Kali's sleeping body.
