• Well it was December 17 , 2009. It was me , and my two friends Afreen and Keyana. Before that day we were all like I can't wait until the spelling bee and everything but when the day actually came we were all OMG DO WE HAVE TO GO UP ONSTAGE AND SPELL IN FRONT OF ALL OF THOSE PEOPLE!?!?!!?!? We were like really freaking out. Then it was time to go onstage and introduce ourselves and what school we were coming from. I was second out of like 50 or more people. I was really scared then!! Next it was my turn so I got up onstage and introduced myself and took my seat. Then the spelling bee started. The girl before me word was "Character" and she forgot the "h" in the beginning of the word. Next it was me and my word was "manicure" I got up onstage and spelled: M-A-N-I-C-U-R-E , manicure. The lady said "that's correct." I was so happy!! Then like 5 other people went and the it was Keyana's turn and her word was "ingenious" she got up onstage and spelled: I-N-G-E-N-I-U-S , ingenious. The bell went "ding!" The lady said that's incorrect. So then I knew it was up to me and Afreen to represent our school. Afreen was next but I forgot her word so ummm sorry but I think she got it wrong(no offense Afreen!) Then it was my turn again and my word was "hedonism" and I got onstage and spelled: H-E-I-D-I-N-I-S-M , hedonism. The bell went "ding!" The lady said that's incorrect. I exited the stage and I was really upset but my teacher told me it's always next year and that we did good so now I'm gonna try again this year and hopefully my friends will too!! biggrin
