Hidden Truths

• Description: This is a poem I wrote in my eighth grade english class. My teacher said it was amazing and wanted me to submit it to our schools literary journal, but I was sick the day of entries and never got to submit it :( ...The rainbow color is just the way I had it typed up in my poetry book that I had to put together for the class so I wanted it the same on here.Just tell me what you think about it :wink: _my first submission ever_~so nervous EDIT: It is symbolism!!!!

A budding white lily
Hidden behind a barrier of sunflowers
Trying to reach the sun
Not wanting to leave
The secrecy of those giants

A new sense of independance
The lily reaches out for the warmth
Reaches for new heights
But the lily is just caught
In a devastating tornado

i disagree with Eleiza. the simplicity of the flowers is what gives them their power in poetry as symbols.
