    I woke up this morning
    With a cloud above my head
    It won't stop rainin'
    Pretty sure the sun is dead
    I looked outside my window
    The streets were painted gray
    Plucked the last pink flower
    Cuz the rest have passed away
    And I ask.

    "Where has my sunshine gone?"
    And the trees begin to weep
    He seemed so very lonely just before he went to sleep
    He tucked us in while cryin'
    The stars streamed down his face::
    "All your leaves are dyn',
    I'm so lonely in this place,
    I used to sing here
    You used to Grow
    Now my voice is raspy
    As the wind begins to blow"

    I walked along the rivers
    And they whispered in my ear
    The sun don't show his face no more
    He won't be shinin' here.
    And I asked::

    "Where has my sunshine gone?"
    The rivers stopped their flow
    He seemed so very anxious to grab his things and go
    Massaged our feet while cryin'
    The stars streamed down his face
    "All your fish are dyn'
    I'm so lonely in this place.
    I used to run fast
    You used to speed
    Now my feet grow weary
    As my toes begin to bleed"

    And I asked:

    "Where has my sunshine gone?"
    As I began to weep
    He seemed so very happy just before I went to sleep.
    I kissed his cheeks while cryin
    His smile warmed my face
    All my love is dien'
    I'm so lonely in this place

    I used to love you
    We used to shine
    Now my heart is broken
    Cuz you don't want to be mine
