A girl with dark hair and dark eyes, her
The puppet in life.
Saddened by loses of love and dreams.
Trying t cut the strings.
Snip! She does, never thinking twice.
Her heart guiding her,
Her dreams driving her,
To the break of dawn.
Every dog and hunter looking for her.
She doesn’t care.
She is free,
She is searching.
She passes a window and stares.
She knows what she must do.
The girl sees an angel.
Not the kind she heard about,
When she was still young and innocent.
The angel, dark and handsome,
Walking into the light.
The light that is blinding her.
Within the light,
Below her, an abyss.
Opening her arms in welcome,
She falls.
The darkness closes around her,
Taking the maid into its depths.
Mouth opens to scream,
But no sound.
No one to hear her.
Falling into the abyss.
As she falls her fears,
Soon disappear.
In their place,
Feelings she’s never felt before.
Those dark emotions in her,
In her soul, gone.
She sees her dreams,
Her hopes falling with her,
In the dark abyss.
The darkness around her, it changes.
It feels as if she is falling in water.
She is no longer falling.
The maid on her feet.
To her surprise,
She is standing on something solid.
She looks around,
Frantically searching the darkness.
She sees the angel,
He is holding out his hand.
The maid runs toward him.
He again disappears into the light,
At the bottom of the abyss.
She never reaches him.
Her feet and legs are stuck in place.
No, not stick, they’re being held in place.
Her fears return to her.
She cries out,
No one to hear her,
No one but the angel in black.
Again he holds out his hand,
She grabs it, and holds it with all her might.
He smiles sadly and is gone again.
She feels tears coming.
They fall, into they’re own abyss.
The darkness begins to consume her.
Mind, body, and soul.
But beneath her,
Her own light appears.
The shadows holding her let go.
In her hand, a sword appears.
She grips it tight.
The sword a gift.
She fights the shadows,
With each one defeated, a fear conquered.
When she had turned the darkness,
The all consuming darkness, into light,
She realized who she was.
She wasn’t what everyone had told her.
She was perfect, beautiful, brave.
A warrior in this world of demons.
With one final shadow destroyed,
The angel in black appeared.
A smile,
The most beautiful smile she had seen.
He let his black wings,
Erupt from his back.
Loose feather flying around them.
Words floating on a nonexistent breeze.
She blushed,
Knowing she had been chosen.
He chose her to be with him.
To join his world of light.
He touched her face,
His warm hand on her cheek.
She watches him fly away.
He holds out a hand foe her.
She reaches out,
And feels her own wings.
Seeing the color didn’t matter then,
Nor if they looked like his.
She had only one thought:
The speed she could fly...
Could she keep up with him?
She closes her eyes,
And feels the wind on her face.
She lies on the ground where,
Where the abyss once lay.
She sees the sword in her hand,
And her own wings around her.
Knowing it wasn’t a dream,
She sits up and looks toward the sky.
And see her angel in a form
That she was so used to seeing.
Her dark angel,
The might falcon.
The maid had found her true self.
And it only took
Falling
Into an abyss.
