Yellow Coat
I hear the rolling thunder,
Still far off in the east.
But, 'tis a gentle warning,
To pack up my little feast.
And as the rain begins to fall,
Upon the window pane.
I find that I have left my coat,
Now sitting in the rain.
And when the clouds are parted,
And the rain has gone to rest.
I gather up my yellow coat,
A dripping, muddy mess.
My shirt is wet and grimy.
Mud caked upon my jeans.
But, my beloved yellow coat,
Is safe inside, with me.

Description:
Just a little poem about a child and their yellow coat.
I was attempting to write a spring related song for a class in school and this just popped out of my head and onto the paper. I got a pretty good grade on it too. ;D
Comment and enjoy!

- Nice imagery. I applaud your solid effort, dear friend! A little lax, at times, but I enjoyed the sort of "sing-song" rhyme it made me think of. Quite a good poem for such a topic. smile 3.75/5
