Darkness surrounds me,
and there is no where to turn.
The night is beckoning me to surrender,
and I am close to doing so.
But I am trying my damndest to hold on.
Hold on,
to the only thing that is keeping me going,
My one and only love,
the only light that shines through this darkness.
I would turn to this light,
but it is so far away in the distance,
I can hardly see it,
it seems to slowly be fading.
I could never walk the distance to get to this light.
I can only wait out this darkness,
and let the light come to me.

- Title: Darkness (1/9/05)
- Artist: Danika Miles
- Description: This one of my dark poems. Though it is not my darkest. I tend to be over dramatic with my poetry but it seems to help release my feelings the best. It is my one way to cope with my reality.

- Your poem has exposed the similar secret kept deep within mine own darkness. Seems sometimes easier to wait out the light rather than risk falling into the dark abyss that comes with the search. Makes one wonder if they'll ever find the light after the long and weary path traveled in concealed shadows of isolation.

- To wait out the darkness is a folly many seem to commit, yet for those who can walk, even if not reaching the end, they will be the ones to survive and and find the light before they are lost. But, for the ones who wait the chance of darkness swallowing them is great, if no effort is put forth to conquor the dark then what hope is there for the light to find one not willing to try for it.

I like this one as well.I canot see mutch to improve on other than "I couldd never walk the distance to get to this light"
It seems to make to much sence if that advece makes sence. - Report As Spam
