It is serene calmness
golden glow of brilliance
slowly blinding me
from the destruction of the war
blood flies as each droplet
turns into a snowy dove
arms and heads fall to the ground
like stones they fall
and like stones they litter
the earth below
each graceful swing brings
the soft swoosh of the sea
as I myself finally fall
the gentle sea becomes a song
calling to me like a mother
beckons for her lost child
she is my mother
bringing me forth into her arms
and the golden glow fades behind me
as I reach for my last home.

- Thank you. I wrote in in ninth grade during a free writing period. I seem to write my best poems during free writing periods in class. Hmmmm, maybe I should bring this to the attention of my teachers. . . .
