The cloud above roll in threatening gray
The plants below now have a reason to pray
Their thirst is dry, begging for water
The heat is cruel and waiting for slaughter.
The plants reach up, hoping to persuade
But the cloud moves on, it cannot delay.
It cannot stop there because of the fear
That the cloud’s time is closer than near.
“Look down here, can’t you see?
We’re dying for water. Would you please?”
The plants reach out with a desperate cry.
They’re withered and dry, just might as well die
The cloud took pity and opened a little.
The rain fell down, but just a small drizzle.
But the cloud is heavy with the burden of rain
Opening a little, it acted like a drain.
The rain fell down as if a storm
The plants drank up as they started to take form.
The cloud had plans and wished to move on
But the rain fell down until everything was gone.
The plants were content and had chance to grow
The cloud looked down and saw puddles below.
Is wasn’t supposed to rain down here
And the reason why was very much clear.
Only a few more minutes had the plants waited
A different cloud would have come, just as fated
So the cloud watched another rainstorm down there
And heard the plants cry out now for some air.

Description:
This is somewhat depressing... LOL
I wrote this in my creative writing class and I thought it came out good.
I wasn't really thinking of anything while typing the poem but after reading it again I guess I had some...
"Do what you need to do first before what you want."
thought.
First poem written by myself, thank you :3
