-
I sat in a cold zephyr,
The awry winds ruffling the grass around me.
I glanced up into gentle drifting clouds,
and i brimmed with unending plea.
The clouds rolled and cracked,
Their angry wrath showering the sodden ground.
I sat in the rain,
So present, yet so unfound.
My tears littered the soft grass,
Each glittering drop filled with sorrow,
My life was a vortex spiraling out of control,
Nothing to look forward to tomorrow...
The cold rain dampened my hair,
And i weakly stood tall.
A roaring river of blood swept over me,
And i screamed as i began to fall.
I could feel the sticky liquid, the horrid rotten stench.
But i closed my eyes in confusion.
Everything around me was gone,
Nothing more than a mere illusion.
Why were these strange visions coming?...
Why was i so unconvinced, the real me?
Anger enveloped me, the ground rumbling,
I knew exactly why. I smiled with dark glee.
Lives had been lost, memories destroyed.
I was to blame.
I had been ruthless and unwise...
I had no shame.
This was a punishment, i understood now,
The weaker side of me destroyed.
I had once felt regret,
But now all my cares are unemployed.
The darkness engulfed me in a painful tremor,
Chains wrapped themselves around my wrists.
I laughed an insane laugh.
In my hand i formed a fist.
I had no regrets, the job had to be done.
Stiffening my grip, I broke the chain in two.
The icy metal lay motionless on the ground,
As my instinct continually grew.
Racing off into the hills, i smiled obscuredly.
There was more of this life left to be.
I had a job to do, a merciless reign to will.
I was out. i was free.
