A Kiss To The Sand

• Description: I know it's abstract and maybe hard to understand, but that's one of the things I like about poetry.
  And I like the contrast from the start of the poem to the end of it.

A kiss to the sand
You're so far away
As the water recedes
You increase your distance
I'm left a "me" that is empty.
Just like the tide
You disappear with the moon
I repeat the words "I love you"
Until they lose their meaning.
The kiss in the sand
Is washed away forever
Just as I was washed from your memory.
A kiss to the sand
Where you once stood firm
Any trace of your existance is lost
But I still await your return
I repeat the words "I love you"
To the vacant sea
Where you always use to be.
A kiss to the sand
My breath becomes short
My lungs fill up with debris
I inhale more...

Coughing and choking
I cry the words "I love you"
Until they lose their meaning.
Alone on the sand
A kiss to the sea
My pain is gone and I can see
I waited for someone not waiting for me.
I drift into the waters deep
In which I start eternal sleep
What you sow is what you reap
The pain into my body seeps
The pain of which you gave to me
Is more then anyone can see
You left me here and stopped my breath
You left me here and started death
Your hands are dirty as the mud
Your hands are dirtied with my blood
Abandoned me in every way
And then I had to hear you say
"Not tomorrow, Not today
We'll never be, in any way."
Cast my heart into the sea
And now forever I will be
Alone wrapped up in misery
Never again will I be free
To feel the warmth of human's hand
A kiss from my soul
A kiss to the sand.
