A lonely streetlight looks out on a missing child
The child screams out in agony and pain
The light goes out and the little girl's left in darkness
What now? she thinks as she lays down.
A junior high schoolgirl proud as an eagle steps down off her mansion's front steps
As she's walking she thinks just to herself, Where is that dang boy at?
Just when she starts to turn her head she hears a car horn coming from her front drive
He's sitting there in his brand Camero, waving her to hurry up and jump in
She sighs softly as he takes to his room. No parents so they're alone.
Knocked up in junior high, married at 15. Divorced before the child was born.
As she's laying her darling down she thinks, I wonder what I'd have done if I could start over.
Life in the darkness. Daylight in war.
Your life is in darkness. Your life is a war. Life backs.
