We are they who don't speak upon return
Who witness the pain and villages burn
We are the ones who protect those who cry
Who will give up their lives to defend the rights
Of those who don't know or don't care at all
Please just remember the ones who fall, who crawl
For your safety, out of love and respect, for those lost
We must never forget the ones who have fought
And the ones who still fight, for life and liberty
Let us show them we still deserve the right to be free

- I appreciate your criticism, but it wasn't written for poetic purposes. It was more about my feelings and concerns for the military at the time. I had just finished writing a 12 page paper in college about PTSD in the military, so that is what inspired the poem. Though, thanks again for your feedback! I greatly appreciate it!

Very nice theme; but in all honesty, I believe that the actual poetic sense can be improved. The wording doesn't flow as well as it can at its maximum potential, and to me, it doesn't stir up many emotions.
You're definitely onto something good; but as I said, I think it can be better.
4/5 for now.
