Sundown arrives on the placid sea
Metamorphosis into a nightmare unseen
A majestic seafaring vessel appears
On the horizon becoming a landscape of fear
Three sails unfurl, its bold colors shown
Defiance to the sea, power to be known
Its nameplate creates bright illumination
Lighting the dark clouds of almighty creation
A midnight voyage across the sea
Awaiting distant ports never to be
What awaits the passengers below the waves
Leviathan asleep in undersea caves
Sudden downpour befalls the brave ship
Roaring waters cause the stern to tip
"Be of great courage," the captain shouts
A plea amidst torrential waterspouts
Weathering the storm, a challenge to make
Sink or swim, do or die, hold on or break
Droplets of rain pounding in flurries
The tempest still holding its fury
A midnight voyage...
The sea monster wakens
Opportunity to strike
All life forsaken
This shall be the last night
A midnight voyage...
A midnight voyage across the seas
Awaiting an arrival never to be
What now remains? Two boards emerge
Depths of the sea and adventure converge

Description:
These lyrics are the first free hand I've ever wrote. I have twelve or thirteen other songs written, but only this and a couple others are actually composed.
Anyways, this tells the tragic fictional story of an ill-fated ship sailing through a storm and being destroyed by a sea monster that is awakened by the tempest. A case of bad luck put into writing. Goes to show that Murphy's Law (if there is a chance that something will go wrong, it will) is a very formidable power. - Date: 07/24/2009

This is definetely interesting. The story does go well in the song. I like the language, although some places seem a little forced in the rhyme scheme. I do like that you apply a rhyme scheme, though.
I think the song needs to encompass more of the story, though. It seemed very brief, going from the departure, to the shipwreck, to the sad aftermath. - Report As Spam
