As this trip drags on like some old snail,
I guess it’s my turn to tell a tale,
I need to make one small suggestion,
Actually, it’s more of a small question,
I had this thought and it just chimes,
Why do we all talk in such rhymes?
I guess we all just think its fun,
To rhyme, and talk, and make a pun,
But, I must stop, I start to ramble,
So now I finish my preamble.
So just sit back, and feel my glory,
Of this pirate’s new found story.
Give me a second to take a swig…
I’ll tell the tale of old Zug and Krig,
Those two goblins that did everything together
Close as could be, two birds of a feather.
One day they both went out to chase Luna’s fairies
They even tried to squash some baby canaries,
But Zug looked straight down and he found him some gold.
One tiny coin, it looked rather old,
Krig picked it right up and he held it so tight,
“Look, Zug,” he said “It is really bright”
Indeed this coin was, the sun made it shine,
In all its glory, it looked rather fine,
Zug looked it over and shared in the glee,
Not only is it shiny, but it also is free!
They both tried to share it, but it just wouldn’t split,
They tried to just cut it, it even got bit!
Finally they realized and just stopped their trying,
They both just sat there, solemnly sighing.
“We cannot share this one, so I guess we need more”
He sadly got up and walked to the door.
I bet I could find more if I went on a trip,”
So Krig snatched up the coin and went out with a zip.
He left behind everything that he had once had.
And out to find gold, he was seeming quite glad.
At first he was searching for one for his friend,
But as he continued, his greed didn’t end,
He saw many great things that he wanted to buy,
Without more gold coins, his fortune not nigh
He began his search; he had forgotten his friend,
Instead he was searching to buy the new trend.
He wandered aimlessly, ‘til he found a cave,
He walked inside, trying hard to act brave,
Once inside he took a hard look around,
There were piles and piles of gold to be found.
There was just one small thing he’d soon overlook,
A big scary dragon, his rump it could cook.
The dragon woke up, locked eyes with that Krig,
So large and menacing, scary and big.
Krig approached the dragon, his greed made him blind,
He challenged this huge, giant threat to his kind.
And after he slayed it, he would own all the gold,
And also be a hero of legends of old.
He drew out a sword and charged at the beast,
But the dragon soon made Krig a nice tasty feast.
Out came his fire and charred poor old Krig,
Now he looked more like a hot suckling pig.
At first he only wanted one coin for his friend,
But then he wanted some gold without end,
That Krig he got greedy, and look where he’s at,
He’s in that beast’s belly, making him fat.
But Krig got something; it may not be gold,
But he still lives on in the legends of old…
