Everything as you knew it,
Gone down the drain.
The trickle of lies,
turns into a flood of deception.
They only thought to protect you,
to make you happy.
Too late,
did they realize;
They built a wall of hopes,
to be torn down by the harsh realities of the world.
Unprepared,
for the corruption from our society,
we're lost.
Life goes on,
and you wander aimlessly.
Your soul cries for help,
Yet nobody listens,
Nobody stops.
What happened to childish hopes?
that idealistic dream;
where are those who built walls,
to keep you in,
to try to ignore reality.
They've gone,
dust in the wind,
buried six feet deep.
Yet another lie;
The promise to always be there.
The final betrayal.
Poverty and depression,
beating at your chest.
The reminder,
the ghosts of your past,
your only solace.
your only happiness.
As it fades,
so do you.
Your memory's gone,
yet still you move on.
You still live on,
Unwilling to believe in reality.
Unwilling to fully accept the world.
A final lesson before you die;
Deny reality,
and it will deny you.

Description:
This is a poem I wrote... I like to think of it as a warning;
Don't believe in the happiness of the world, or those beliefs will destroy you as you come to realize that reality is a ruthless killer, with no regards to your feelings and thoughts. - Date: 01/10/2010
