Sing softly sweet prince, for innocence won’t return.
Won’t you be my cadence?
Will you be concerned?
Your father, simply put, the King.
I stole all his golden rings.
He placed me in the guillotine.
One last thought, I screamed to you:
Sweet prince do I bid adieu?
Before I saw a sky so blue.
I thought I was surely gone.
But I was trapped somewhere between midnight and dawn.
Nothing more than a mere pawn.
Dust to dust.
A realm so unjust.
I formed an involuntary trust.
An ending so abruptly adjourned.
I say never refuse a chance to learn.
And sing softly sweet prince, for innocence won’t return.
