• I sat in my room playing a game of chess
Trying to give my troubled mind a rest
A knock came from the door across the room
The noise echoed as if it were in a hallow tomb
I answered it with no use of stealth
There laid a man promising love and wealth
He said “put your hands together and prey
And god will give you the day”
He asked “what do you wish for?”
As a joke I answered “war”
He smiled at me and said “god will come through
And as long as you love him he will love you”
His words got me annoyed and struck me like a knife
He then promised god would bring my love ones back to life
I looked up at him and let out a grin
I asked “isn’t bringing someone back a sin?”
He answered “yes if only performed by man
When the world changes you will understand”
I thought about the people who had him sent
Does this guy really think I’m ignorant?
But instead I held my smile
Instead I let my anger pile
I asked “what if I already have a religion?”
He replied god will change your path it’s not you decision
His partner behind him just nodded his head
He sat in the back ground as if he were already dead
He continued by saying “take this you can finish it in an hour”
I read the title it said “The Watchtower”
He said he would come back and tell me more
I replied by saying thank you and closing the door
I went back to my chess game and let out a sigh
I thought to myself man what a lie
I went to move my king then noticed its cross
I threw the king down and whispered “I already lost”
