The girl with no hair stands in front of a crowd of skeptics.
Here goes her self esteem, they all think.
But she keeps her head up high,
And walked with her enemies,
Arm-in-arm,
Link-in-link.
The boys around stare.
Looking at the girls with nothing else but baby blue eyes.
Some wonder how she survives,
Others wonder if she dies.
The girls lets go of her enemies' hands
And wanders up to the boy she loved the most.
He became drunk at the sight of her,
And wondered if he was overdosed.
He shook his head in amazement.
She had been pretty before, with her pretty red curls.
But now, with a tumor in her brain and her head without hair,
She was better than the other girls.
He took her in an embrace
And kissed the top of her head.
Quietely he whispered in her ear,
"You have always been beautiful
But I've been blind to see.
My darling, how I would have dread
If they had said you were dead."
She keeps her head high to this day.
And she waits for her soul mate in heaven.
Secure, happy, and safe.

- Title: You Are Beautiful
- Artist: insaneheartless44
- Description: I hear about girls with cancer, and I thought of a little fantasy. This one's for them. I'd also like to make this to the memory of my favorite 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Kauffman, who died of leukemia this year. In your loving memory, Mrs. Kauffman.
