Signal Flares
Plotting out trajectories
Halley's Comet and Newton's Laws
This orbit tells a different story.
Despite all relativistic flaws,
Every cycle only increases the distance.
I know the attraction a black hole draws.
Singularities offer no chance for gravitational resistance;
I know there's no way this course will reverse.
Yet I still shine on in suicidal persistence
Sending up signal flares across the universe
Tendrils of tenuous electromagnetic threads
The only way to be heard across the vacuum you've traversed.
Screaming in infrared,
Lonely in aphelion's unconcern
Burning up hydrogen, watching all my atoms shred
Going supernova in hopes you will turn
your telescope on me, lightyears after I burn.
