• These chains that bind,

    Are they really steel?

    This bondage that confines,

    Am I truly bound?

    These thoughts,

    they harden,

    to tempered steel.

    The world around,

    It seems so dull.

    But, what can I know?

    Bound within,

    These stagnate thoughts.

    As they tighten,

    These tempered bindings.

    They imprint, they maim

    Leaving their marks to fester.

    But, these restraints,

    This tempered steel,

    Do they truly bind,

If not only by my will?

    .
