Why can't I hate you?

When I look at the stars at night

I feel like your soul is miles and miles away

and I can't do anything to bring you with back

you've changed your colors and mine have erased

your smile has tuned to a cold frown

and your eyes no longer shine as they did on the I first saw you

It would be easier if I could learn to hate you

so that I don't have to worry about you again

so that I don't have to look at you kill yourself little by little

If I could have done something to stop the poison from spreading

I would have fought to protect this great bond of friendship

That you so intentionally destroy into little pieces

It would be easier if I could hate you

because once you've drank from the hands of evil

Its really hard to go back

It seems very amature, though I do admire your stanza set up. It just seems like a boohoo woe is me kind of thing, it doesn't stand out at all from anything. Also, in some parts of the poem you use very anti-poetic words. So maybe work on that. <3 Much Love, Marni.
