I Fell In Love With the Moon;
I fell in love with the moon one night,
As he was lulling about in the sky.
It was close to midnight, I could tell;
The fireflies were teasing my eyes.
It was oddly clear in that November air,
And it just so happened that night that I,
Decided then and there to always stay
Consumed with childish dreams in mind.
I think I realized on that wonderfully desolate night
That there was nothing I could ever say,
To keep that child that dwelled in me
So I ran about the endless fields chasing my childhood away.
I loved the moon with an unrequited love,
But he abandoned me to the light of the day.
I sat in that field forever in the winter it seems...
Now summer comes to whisk me away.
**I understand that 'dwelled' is not a word. However, I prefer not to correct it.

Description:
These is a poem I wrote recently that I've turned into lyrics as well, although the song isn't quite finished. I think perhaps the words suit better as a poem, though. Thank you for reading, I appreciate your time and I hope you enjoy my work. <3
