An emanating warmth hangs in the breeze, heating the core of any journeyman braving the land scape.... The heat beats upon his skin.... He welcomes it.... The wind halts as if being burned up by the very essence of the fire that rides it.... The atmosphere is light as a feather and the sky bright.... He comes to an opening into a golden meadow from a well traveled road.... The meadow is a shimmering blanket under the sun with a single prominent tree near a small watering hole.... To his back lie the green mountains wild and alive with critters a plenty.... The dead creatures food for the living and the living preparing to die for life.... In front of him lay many large stone pillars and totems.... He'd been here before.... The clouds began drifting by faster and faster.... Several silhouettes beyond the rock walls slide in and out of sight.... Birds flock by overhead and swarms of grasshoppers sprout up from their hidden nests between the blades of bronze grass to take flight.... The wind whips wildly and sounds flow from all directions.... Moments pass.... Everything is like a movie, flying by so quickly.... A frame by frame film baking beneath the blazing rays.... The figures call out to him.... They ache for his coolness.... A mask, then two.... He notices one familiar.... The fiery red prism eyes, once a shining ruby.... Now white hazy lifeless orbs.... A chuckle.... The ivory spheres dart forward.... The slopes surrounding the man's station instantly encircled.... The faint laughter seals into a wicked smile....

"It's quite uncommon to kill something more than once...."
