Mood: Stressfully Exhausted

After my second week of babysitting - YES, I said babysitting. It's my summer job... The first one I've had, actually. Little kids an' me just don't seem to click... I haven't dangled them off a cliff yet, so I think it's going rather well. I never knew quite how depressing kids could be. Maybe it's the fact that I'm spending a whole five days away from my home, without any relaxation, or anyone I remotely know. It gives me some time to think about things, though. I understand now that having a job is a commitment. And until this week, I didn't quite realize what it meant.
Where I live in California, I don't have that many friends. They've either all grown up, or moved. Or we've just grown apart. My best friend, and cousin lives about half an hour in-town, where I'd be spending some of my time during my babysitting visits. Originally, I thought the plan would be to spend some of my free hours there with her, but she was busy. Another friend, who I thought was close came down from Reno for a visit, but didn't bother to contact me. Not to mention that on top of that, I still had to watch the kids.
So, least to say I was bummed. I did however get to spend my weekend with my cousin. heart It's okay. Friends are over-rated. ^^
