I woke up early because I wanted to help set up the float for the parade today, but my dad wouldn't let me. He wanted me to call my driving instructor for a lesson today, but he`s busy and will be for a while. I didn`t get to set up the float, so I stayed home until it came time to go.
We went McDonalds to eat something quick first, then came home quickly to change into uniform for the parade. My little brother, Eric, went with the other Beavers (Scouts) and I just stuck with them. When we got to the meeting place, we were late and couldn`t find anyone, so we went looking around at all the floats to find them. We finally went up to a clown (I`m afraid of clowns) and asked him where we were supposed to be. We found the float, and the other guys from Dominoes Pizza (my dad works there) who were infront of Eric`s group float. They were all on a big trailer and I just joined them for the ride. I am a venturer myself (also part of Scouts).
We just sat on the pile of straw on the trailor, waved to everyone on the streets and yelled out Merry Christmas. The little guy right beside me was soo cute! 4laugh
He waved some and said `Mewwy Cwismas`. It was soo cute! There was a person giving out balloons to some of the kids on the trailor, and he wanted one, but she ran out of balloons and he was sad when she walked away. Then she came back with more and gave him one and he was happy!
Some of the little kids were saying `Happy Halloween`. It made me and the people on the street laugh. blaugh
I saw a few of my friends and called out to them, but they didn`t notice me. I saw Cedric at the door of the store on his weekend working watching the parade go by and I waved at him and I don`t know if he saw me, since I was on the other side of the float.
As we were turning the last corner, a person on the street handed us a trophy for 1st of having the best child-organized float in the parade. We got a small trophy a ribbon.
Yesterday, my friends were having the time of their lives at semi-formal while I was working. xp
They wanted me to go so bad, but I couldn`t go. I didn`t have the time to go since I had to work, I didn`t have the money to pay for the ticket, and I didn`t have the time or money to go out and buy a dress for the one-day occassion. They all had dates, and I wouldn`t have one anyways. I hope they all had fun!
Oh yeah, and for those of you who don`t know what semi-formal is, it`s like a mini-prom. It`s pretty much a dance that takes place half way through semester 1 and people eat dinner that specially prepared for them and they dance. You have to dress semi-formally too. The girls have to wear a dress, but nothing too fancy while the guys where a nice shirt and pants. They don`t have to wear a tuxedo or anything.
