Krael and Krystal: The Christmas Miracle |

A completely made up story I made for a report. It turned out pretty good, so why not post it. xD *Note: this has nothing to do with the comic and will not affect it. Any way, Enjoy and tell me what you think!
Krael and Krystal: The Christmas Miracle
Krael and Krystal are two little hamster sisters. They are a bit different than others, because they had fox-like tails and pointy ears. Krael has orange-like fur and wore a red and white ribbon on her right ear. She also wore a matching bandana around her neck. Krystal is light blue and wore a blue and yellow hat, with a matching bandana around her neck too. Krael and Krystal were at home preparing for their favorite holiday tomorrow, which was Christmas. They were busy wrapping presents to distribute to their friends. Sadly, they can’t share with their own family. They lost their parents during a natural catastrophe. Everything seemed stable at first. All of a sudden, a destructive landslide destroyed their home, but luckily the two sisters survived. Since they had no protection, their great-grandmother took them in. Unfortunately she got terribly ill and is now in the hospital.
“Sister?” Krystal paused. “Yes?” Krael looked at her curiously. “I wish our parents were still alive and that grandma was not ill…” Krystal looked down, close to tears. “Don’t wish for the impossible. They are gone and there is nothing we can do. As for grandma, well, let’s just pray for her health.” Krael went back to wrapping. “How can you be so heartless? Can’t you just wish for something...? Just once? I mean… Can’t you at least ask for a miracle?!” Krystal yelled as tears filled her eyes. Krael stopped and looked at her. “I know the truth hurts. But how often do miracles occur? If we are lucky, at least once in a lifetime.” She said. Krystal was still angry; she tried to wipe away her tears. Krael gave her a sympathetic look. “Come on. Let’s go outside. Maybe playing in the snow will cheer you up.” Krael smiled. Krystal reluctantly followed. After getting bundled up, they went out. They looked at their surrounding environment. Everything was covered in a blanket of snow. A pure white coat covered all that was visible. They looked around but there was no one around. Delicate snowflakes fell on them; they shivered at the ice cold touch. They played in the snow for hours. They made sculptures made of snow, had snowball fights, and just plainly attacked each other for fun. Krystal accidentally fell on the snow sculpture causing structural damage. Krael ran towards it to try to reconstruct it. After a while, Krael reached an obstruction in the process. It shined brightly in the light. Krystal was busy making another sculpture to notice. Krael dug it out. It turned out to be a really pretty bright red jewel. It was as round as a marble and was able to fit in her paw. She inspected it for a while. She quickly tucked it in her scarf and continued on the construction of the sculpture.
“Sis, can we go inside now? I’m cold.” Krystal went up to her, shivering. “Sure.” Krael said as they headed back inside. They noticed an envelope on the door mat. Krael opened it and read it out loud.
“Dear Krael and Krystal,
I’m sorry to say that your grandma’s sickness is getting worse by the minute. At this rate, she will probably die. I would like you to visit her tomorrow.
-The Doctor”
There was silence. Krael froze at that first statement while Krystal cried her eyes out. Krael looked at Krystal. “Go to sleep. You need some rest. You had a long day.” Krael said firmly. Krystal looked at her in protest; she would have preferred to be with her sister than sit in her room alone. Krael was looking at the letter sternly. Krystal hung her head and went to her room. Hail was now coming down hard. It sounded worst than a thunderstorm. Krael sat on a nearby chair and took out the red jewel. “Is Krystal right? Am I heartless?” Krael asked herself before going to bed.
“Krael… The one with the heart of ice. Melt the ice away… Or face the consequences. What you have now will help you…” A strange but familiar voice said. A dark figure appeared before Krael. Then it all faded away. Krael found herself sitting up on her bed. “Was that a dream? It seemed so real. Heart of ice? True, I’m well-known for being a bit cold at times, but still. What did that all mean?” Krael questioned herself. She got up and took the jewel. Krael sighed as she squeezed it. “Guess I should get ready.” After she got ready, she went down to meet Krystal. Krystal sat there with red and white poinsettias in her paws. “Let’s go.” They went out and walked to the hospital. Throughout the whole walk, Krael couldn’t help but stare at her heartbroken sister.
They were finally at the hospital. The nurse brought them into the emergency room. There laid a pale brown hamster breathing heavily. “Grandma!” Krystal ran to her. Krael just stood there. She couldn’t take it, so she left. She shivered at the frigid weather. She squeezed the jewel. “Some Christmas… I wish… I wish my parents were still alive and that grandma was not ill.” Tears dripped from her face onto the jewel. She got so angry she threw the jewel at a mound of snow. She walked back into the hospital. “Sister! Come, hurry!” Krystal said excitedly. Krael came to her and saw Grandma sitting up. “It’s a miracle…” Krael muttered. She automatically ran to her and hugged her. Then Krael heard a gasp. She turned to see Krystal and 2 bigger hamsters. One was red and the other was blue; they looked like Krael and Krystal. She opened her eyes wider to try to identify them. It was their parents. “Mom? Dad?!” Krael was astonished. The 2 sisters ran to their parents with tears of joy pouring out. Krael felt a sensational feeling deep in her heart. It felt like something is gone but something new replaced it. Their parents, grandmother, and the two sisters happily celebrated Christmas. From then on they lived together in peace and happiness. “This would have never happened, if it wasn’t for that Christmas miracle.” Krael thought happily to herself.
