Lately, I have found many manga in the bookstore that only run for two volumes. For some stories like Fall in Love Like a Comic or Backstage Prince, this is acceptable. Those plots are generally very small and have nothing huge that leaves the reader, me, screaming for the rest of the story. All in all, they ended quite nicely~

But then there are others -coughmugenspiralcough- that have ridiculous endings! They set up this great story that captivates you, that pulls you in, and all of a sudden right when things are getting good...you look down at the bottom of the last page to find that it says "Final chapter."

WHAT THE HECK!!!!!

Mugen Spiral has absolutely NO excuse for ending the way it did! Ura and Yayoi were finally getting in the kind of relationship that makes you blush when you read it! Not to mention that NOTHING about the battle to become the next demon king was mention beside the scattered demon encounters. In the first volume, Yayoi puts a seal on Ura's demonic powers that can only be removed once all 54 beads are released.

So for all we know, Ura's psychotic brother gets to be king while he's just Yayoi's pet.

What the heck!!!!

And...they didn't even kiss once!!!! It's like "JEEZ, KISS HER ALREADY!!!!!"

But nooooooo~ Readers like me will NEVER know what happens. We'll never know if Ura becomes king, if Yayoi becomes his wife, if Hakuyo becomes Ura's lover, if there's some ultimate showdown for power in the demon world, or if Ura will ever get revenge on Yayoi for messing up his cat fur by intentionally petting him the wrong way!

Really, it's like if JK Rowling decided to end the Deathly Hallows when Harry fights Voldermort. "Oh? You want to know if the whole wizarding world is destroyed? Too bad~"
