Today was the day I had to recite my speech. For those of you who don't know, at my school in your Freshman year, you have to do a persuasive speech. It's a big deal - it counts for ten percent of your final grade in both history and English. And if you do really well on it, you could be asked to give it in front of the whole school. Mine was about taking self defense and protecting yourself. I thought I wasn't going to do well at all, because I hate public speaking. But when my teacher called my name, the whole class clapped, cheering me on. And I thought, "Wow! I actually have friends besides X, Y and Z!"

So I got up there and used my handy-dandy notecards - which had the first few words of each sentence on them - and delivered my speech. I did stumble a little bit, and I skipped some sentences because I had reformed the ones before, but other than that it was pretty good. I was pretty happy with how it went, but I knew I went too fast through it. I didn't expect to get anything higher than a B. I still don't know what I got.

But I did get asked to deliver it again. To the whole school, I mean.

And I may have looked all calm and collected on the outside, but on the inside when my history teacher told me that, I was bursting with joy! I always knew I was an okay writer (well, some people say better than okay), but I never knew I would be on the list of people who they would consider to deliver it again! I'm so happy!

On another note, my time travel friend Kevin is really depressed. I threatened to fly over there if he tried to hurt himself, maybe use him to demonstrate my karate moves. I don't think it worked. He better get out of it soon, or I don't know what will happen. But I'm positive that it can't be good. And it involves me kicking some time traveler butt! wink
