Day 1The flight took about5 hours...
When we (me and my dad) arrived at our home airport, It wasn't really sunny... not cold though, but neither nice beach weather.
We were there at about 6pm, though the flight would take place at 10. So that meant we had like 3 hours left before we had to report at the gate. We already checked in on the net, so all we had to do is for us to dump our suitcases and spend some time at the airport shops.
As we did so, time passed by. After an hour we thought, lets get through customs and spend the next 2 hours there.
First we headed for the exchange to get some Egyptian pounds, than we looked for some food shops. I saw a sushi
heart stand and he asked if I'd wanted to eat that. Thought I wanted to say yes, I said no. Although sushi is very tasty, it doesn't fill my tummy. As we walked further, we even passed McDonald's and the SubWays (they have good food there), and than we finally found a ramen stand
heart Lucky me, just the thing I wanted to have.
After the 5h flight, we went inside the airport, trough customs and in a tour-bus to the Inn where we stayed.
At the same day of arrival we were supposed to be picked-up at 0800.h.am (GTM+2)... but the dumb-a** didn't even knew where the Inn was (although you could say not to blame him... he's been damn working and living there for over a year now)... so we came like 30 minutes late.
When we finally arrived at the Bellavista Hotel (which was a trip for 10 Egyptian pounds, thats like E0.10, Y16,81, $0,15)
There were already a lot of people on board. The boat departed shortly after we boarded to the North-West West, about 7 miles off shore... I felt like a pirate... ARRRRRG
pirate At the designated point there was a huge pentacle.. it became even larger after we got closer and closer. When we docking began, so did the briefings for the site.
The water was about 20'c at around 30m deep, 27'c at the surface and around 36'c on deck
burning_eyes The first thing that caught my eye was that it looked like I was in a pool... I had like 25m vision!
eek The first day we dove with Marike (Ma-ri-ke, e like in F), a Dutch girl, a little older than me, about 26y/o. But due to the accident she had with rising to the surface, she decided not to take any chances and stayed the rest of the time at the office. So from day 2 on we dove with Joan (Jo-an) an English woman (about 35y/o).Day 5Normally we dive with the same 4 people and some others in a group. But Today... we didn't expect anything at all... we had some Dutch guy, who didn't understand a bit of English... and an Englishman... with a
Super-man-wetsuit... I was like...
eek ... WTH?
The Superman guy dove in the water from the stern like Superman him self would fly... hahaha... I think he will never do that again
xd what would you expect if an air filled tank would almost knock you out.
Day 6Well.. what's there to say.. I saw a bunch of lion fish, rock fish, alligator fish... got attacked by the little clown fish (
the same fish as Nemo in Finding Nemo)... not that they can hurt me or something... *
runs off to the hospital*
I Also teased some other fish.. they look like piranha's but are kinda harmless and don't eat meat. What's cool about them, is when you invade there little territory on the corral, they'll try to scare you away by hitting you with it's little mouth.
That evening we decided to have dinner at a restaurant we ate before (
We only ate breakfast at the hotel, and lunch on the boat). At home me and my father decided not to have dinner at the hotel, because you mostly get food the majority of the guests likes... and that mostly isn't the local food
cheese_whine Day 7Our final day of diving (
Diving within 24h before the flight is not recommended by diving associations).
Today we had a calm sea... and luck it seems... on the way to our diving site we had a family of dolphins swimming alongside the boat
whee It was beautiful, but not only that, when we thought they were gone, we even came across them while we were diving
blaugh Later that day on our second dive we even came across a turtle swimming by... I actually thought he gave me the eye.. but it was just the way he looked at me
xp Underwater I said: 'Blub, blub, blub... GET A FACELIFT!
scream blub, blub, blub.'
Day 8It was a hot day.
When I came out of bed, the first thing I did was a cold shower, than went on to the toilet and than a warm shower. After I came out of the bathroom.. my dad was still sleeping. So I went to the balcony... and no, it was so hot that I didn't wear any underwear... so I was like: 'GOOD MORNING! LOOKY ME... I... am... NAKED!!!'
twisted Stayed there looking at people passing by for about 10 minutes and then sat on my bed and watched some TV.
Because is was our last day and we couldn't dive, we thought we'd go out and see some culture. We saw a lot... Burger King, McDonnalds and KFC
rofl But we also saw some local shops... but one thing is for sure.. "If you've seen one... you've seen them all."
We were to be picked up by the tour bus at around 7pm. But because we were to leave the room before 10am with our luggage we had no room to shower before we left. So the manager gave us a room at 4pm, we stayed there until 6 and waited for the bus in the hall since than.
When we arrived at the local airport, we had to go directly through customs. There were no little stores before that. Also, I thought, lets take off my belt when I go through the metal detector... even than it'd go off, stupid stuff... and it didn't even go off when the guy behind me got through with all his bling...
evil I hate that.
That just shows that it's security isn't that tight.
The flight back was good, they had small TV screens in the plane again. and the movie they showed was 'The Golden Compass'. I just couldn't see the whole movie, cause I slept through most of it
razz The landing at Schiphol Amsterdam Airport was good too. Although it took us about 45 minutes to get to the gate.
I hope you enjoyed reading this and I also hope to write again about sometihng in my little boring life wink No animals were harmed in the process.
Note that you should not try to feed these animals, even when there harmless.
You could draw local predators to the location.
Even a local predator who does not eat humans could attack you, they do that with out warning and other local wild life when they have youngsters.
